I have ZERO luck propagating anything. The water roots die when I put them in soil. Help! Just did golden pothos and now trying to root a heart leaf philodendron that I’m trying to save from root rot. What am I getting wrong here? Should I not go to soil at all? Here’s when I first planted one of them in soil a week ago vs today. Nervous because the color and texture are dulling. No shine on the leaves which is always how the decline starts. .

You have to give them time to adjust to the soil. For about the first few weeks, you want to water more often so that the soils is always moist. Then as time goes on, gradually decrease the frequency. It’s hard to say how often to water, but example, for mine, I water about once per week for the first couple of weeks and then start to let dry a bit more each time on about the third week until I only water when dry.

Thanks for this! They are still doing good and settling in so I’m sure you’re right.
