I donā€™t know what to say or do anymoreā€¦ just please help. Any feedback is appreciated. Some reference- these were cuttings from a not so happy motherā€¦I assume the plant was in a weird spot because half died and the other half become very long as if reaching for sun. Anyways- I propagated and brought him home with me! he was originally all green but just odd shaped. (See in his profile) I had had him about 2 months and I never saw Much growth just kind of maintaining health but not thriving. I left town over spring break (a full week) and couldnā€™t find anyone to take care of him. I came back to the plant you see, yikes! I repotted due to my concern with hydrophobic soil as I assumed he was dehydrated? In addition to this I thought the original pot looked a bit tight so I upgraded a bit. Now weā€™re just in this lull, hoping he can bounce back.

    Does that pot have adequate drainage?

      Yes I think so, thereā€™s a hole in the bottom and you can see the plug on the plate for size reference.

      Oh gotcha! I see it now. Is the soil soaking wet? How often have you been watering her? This is going to be a dumb question, Iā€™m sure, but is there a clear pink bead on one of those shoots near a new leaf?

      I just switched the soil because the previous kind I had was hydrophobic so I felt like the plant wasnā€™t getting much water. Itā€™s damp now but I watered this morning. Yes haha thatā€™s a bead I saw a trend and wanted to try but clearly my plant had other ideas.

    Okay. Iā€™m wonderingā€¦looking at the plants you have in your profile, it looks many of them are in spots with little to no light w/no grow lights? And this particular plant is on your balcony? How cold is it getting at night? Iā€™m just wondering if itā€™s been too chilly? Or maybe itā€™s a switch between not enough light in the house to too much light outside? Iā€™m hoping there are other folks with more expertise who will chime in with good answers for you. Iā€™m just taking shots in the dark. šŸ™šŸ»

    Most of my plants are on a balcony that gets direct sun half of the day- Iā€™m worried this might not be enough as well. Where I live itā€™s always pretty warm, even at night it doesnā€™t drop below 60 ish. This battle of too much/little sun or too much/little water is going to drive me crazy, I wish plants could speak! You and me both sister, just a constant guessing game! Hopefully weā€™ll get some more feedback soon, lord knows I need it!

      I may be wrong, but direct sun may be too much. Hopefully, someone will tell us for sure.

    I would take it out and check the roots. If they are mushy or shriveled then cut those off. Leave only nice firm ones. If all or almost all are bad, you'll have to try propping them. You may want to just go ahead and try that anyways. Definitely move it out of that direct sun, that could very well be the problem.

      I went ahead and cut off the shoots and leaves that were yellow/dead, that way the plant can focus on growing what good weā€™ve gotā€¦ I am still holding out on the long shoot off the side, I feel like thereā€™s still a chance lol! Do you think I should check the roots since I just repotted? This was probably 4 days ago now and nothing stood out to me as problematic when I checked the roots then. Iā€™m worried my guy might be stressed already and I donā€™t want to make it worse. On the other hand- itā€™s not like heā€™s going anywhere if thereā€™s rot down under. Let me know what you think!šŸ§

      Was it just recently moved to the balcony? If so its pry the direct sunlight and not necessarily a root problem.

      Itā€™s been on the balcony since Iā€™ve had it, maybe Iā€™ll try moving it in

      If its been on the balcony for about two months already it doesn't make sense that it would suddenly be throwing a fit. Was the soil for sure dry/hydrophobic when you repotted it? If the plant was dehydrated and the roots were ok then you can just leave it, keep taking care of it like usual, and it will pry come back.

      For sure, I had to crumble dried dirt/soil off the roots when I was repotting. I guess it got dry when I left town but I kept it inside along with all my others so not sure why only this plant got so dry.
