How do I get rid of gnats then prevent them from coming back?

    Let your plants dry out before watering, I'd also recommend bottom watering until you get it under control. I find using sticky traps the easiest & safest way to get rid of them. I also have a katchy machine that works wonders in keeping my plants fungus gnat free!!

      Ok Ty most of my plants are self watering so I don’t water them from the top but still a few of my spider plants have gnats Martha Stewart recommended spraying the soil with one part peroxide and 4 parts water to kill any eggs that were in the soil which I did to two of them to make sure they didn’t kill the plants

      I also have two zevo ‘s plugged in which are collecting a lot of the gnats

      That ratio of hydrogen peroxide/water is good for pest prevention, and is actually good for your plant as it gives it extra oxygen. I would continue with that for as long as you want. It definitely won’t harm your plant. Best of luck!

    Sounds like you are getting things under control. Just be persistent. Sometimes if all else fails you may just have to repot with fresh soil in order to get rid of them completely. I've been collecting houseplants for about 4 years now. I rarely see any fungus gnats. But in the beginning I definitely did!! 😊

    I purchased mine on Amazon. They emit a light that entices the gnats, which are sucked into the bottom of the machine where a sticky pad is placed.

    Gotcha. That looks pretty awesome. The zevo is like that except it’s a night light style

    I’m having the same problem! Does peroxide and water kill them? I don’t want to hurt my plants but don’t know how to get rid of them

      From what I’ve read, it kills the eggs that they’ve laid in the soil

    I put the granules in the soil. I sprinkle every few weeks. But after watering a few plants when it was time, I'm seeing gnats again. Not a bunch, but more than one or two. I think I will have to look into one of the sticky machines yall have discussed here.
