help!! i used fertilizer on my indoor plants for the first time and a couple hours after they’re all droopy?? i used the MiracleGro liquid fertilizer and followed the directions, 1 pump for pots under 6inches and 2 for big pots and thoroughly watered after. what did i do wrong?? how do i fix this? my zebra plant took it especially hard and is the droopiest 😥
I haven't used that brand. I always use a concentrate that's diluted, fox farm brands. It could have been too much. If it's near watering time, I'd water those plants to try to flush it out a bit. If it's high in certain salts it can cause a homeostasis issue in the cells, where water is released. And consequently causing drooping, in which case watering can help them draw back up the released water. . Hopefully it won't be too bad and you won't get anytime of burns.

1 gillaMiracle gro is cheap and readily available and has dominated market space. However, most miracle gro products should be avoided because they are not balanced correctly. Even their potting soil should be avoided. I typically stick to Schultz liquid fertilizer. When I was in school, we had bulk dry fertilizer that we mixed the ratios ourselves, but I don't have the time or space to do all of that on my own, lol.
2 gillningar omg you’re joking! it was recommended to me at the store i’m so sad! i’ll definitely have to toss it and get the schultz brand, most of my plants are doing okay now but my zebra plant is on its last leg after that 😥
1 gillaWish I were joking, lol. Miracle gro typically mixes their npk to have the biggest blooms or quick growing foliage. Unfortunately, that can lead to fertilizer burn. You can use any type of fertilizer, so long as the npk ratios are rather balanced. The Schultz brand is 10-12-10, I believe. It was the closest to 10-10-10 I could find. Planta will also recommend good fertilizer ratios for your individual plants under their care tab. With so many different plants requiring different things, it's good to check it out. The safest thing for most leafy foliage though is 10-10-10 though.

I overdid some miraclegro once in the blue mix kind. I ended up taking my plant out of the soil and letting the roots sit in a water/peroxide bath and that helped. I’m not sure that’s where you are at with yours but it’s a thought to research maybe.
