Hello Plant Friends! I’ve had Roz for approximately 1 year and I’ve just noticed this new growth. Is it a root? Is this a sign I should repot her? Any advice is appreciated! TIA! Additional info - she has beautiful leaves and has grown tremendously since I adopted her - just curious if I should be repotting or should be concerned. 1st photo is my questionable growth, 2nd are a few leaves as reference. 🪴
I think that’s just an aerial root, usually it’s what the plant would use in nature to stick itself on to a tree but you can cut it off, leave it alone (and possibly when it’s long enough, stick it back in the pot so it’s more support for the plant), or put your plant on a moss pole so it can get bigger on that and it’s closer to replicating its natural environment and also offers support (from what I’ve read!)

Yes Auds is right it’s just a aerial root. Over time you will notice more and more of them. I usually just let mine be and stick them back in the pot when they get long enough. I would definitely recommend moss poles to keep the plant growing upright. Otherwise it will grow more wide than tall so whatever your preference is. I added a photo of one of my Monstera plants with a moss pole for reference. I like the ones that give you the option to stack the poles on top of each other as the plant gets bigger.
