I was so worried about this string of turtles this past month bc the leaves always look thinner than pictures online, did a root check and DAMN. There's only like 1-2 roots. Anyone have any tips to save her? I'm thinking of putting her in a Tupperware container full of coco coir and creating a humidity dome since I heard they do great as terrarium plants, but i dunno if it's the best option
They normally have a very shallow root system. I would spray with 1:3 peroxide dilution, just in case there's a rot problem. And then pot it back up. You could also prop several of the strings as a back up

1 gilla Ty! I got it that color and it hasn't recovered so she's a full pot but she's definitely got some flags around her. I'm gonna put her on my recovery shelf outside [in Florida so it's basically already summer here] hopefully she gets better! I'm definitely gonna trim up some back ups
1 gilla I hope she recovers. I have mine in a west window, gets about 4hrs indirect and 4-6hrs direct depending on the season (WA state). I'd slowly increase so there's no scorching

Omg string of turtles is my number one plant I’m on a mission for. My first one got sucked into a pest battle and she sadly didn’t make it. The new one I just got came with root rot and I’m trying to propagate this one but no roots so far😭 I wish you luck with yours!
Rofl don’t feel bad, there’s some of us here that are veterans to the “string of” anything battle, we have our battle scars and will never forget how much we were wronged by them. Never again lol😂
