After much searching I found this beautiful polkadot begonia! She has some manual damage (probably due to shipping to the nursery I found her at), and has a few brown crispy tips. No sign of any pests on the leaves or stems. I carefully pinched off the brown tips & the nursery repotted her & added a few small bamboo poles for support. I have placed her near an east facing window, should she be right in the window? Or is a few feet back okay? I’ve never had a begonia before and she’s such a big pretty plant I don’t want to accidentally kill her. 😅

Curious if anyone has had a Ferox grow young leaves with bullae (spikes) developed from the start. 🧐 My understanding is that one of the key differences btwn Ferox and Melanobullata is that Ferox spikes develop as leaves mature, whereas in Melanobullata they are present right away. (The other main difference being a more rounded leaf in Melanobullata vs a pointier leaf in Ferox.) As you can see in the photos, my Ferox put out three new leaves, one smooth and two w spikes. They were very different looking from the very beginning too, w the spiked leaves starting off super fuzzy.

Too much light or not enough humidity? She did need water but she just needed it so I don’t think that is it. She is a bit leggy but also scorched.. maybe humidity and not enough light?? Any advice would be amazing 🙏

This begonia has started drying out a lot faster, like bone dry in 4 days. I’m thinking it needs a repot but I’m nervous to repot in February in Indiana…any thoughts? Do you think it will be fine for another month or two as long as I keep up on watering? Or should I just repot now?

Begonia newbie here! I got this baby at a nice plant shop. It’s only been maybee two weeks, if that. She has some crispy edges. I expected this but it seems the new growth has it as well. The humidity in the area is around 50-55, but it can get dry. I have put a humidifier here and there but I am nervous to make it overly moist. It’s pretty far from the window in an indirect sunlight room. It is also under a grow light, but pretty far down to not burn the leaves… any suggestions?

My first Rex Begonia (named Rex) Saved this poor guy from being extremely dry at Home Depot yesterday and he already looks so much happier!

Just rescued this poor thing today from Walmart! Her leaves are drooping and shriveling, but I am determined to bring her back to life!

I’ve only owned this begonia white ice for a week. What are these pink things???

Begonia Morocco began to brown on some leaves / is dropping leaves more quickly. Moved it from a much higher light to a little lower, thinking it might be getting scorched…any other thoughts about how to stop leaves from falling so fast? I try to let it dry out before watering again, but this begonia is soooo finicky

This wax begonia is in my classroom. I was gifted it a year ago in the current pot and it has grown so much and finally bloomed! But I worry it needs a bigger pot. What do you all think? More photos in the comments

hi all! my begonia dropped all her leaves last month, so i took a bunch of cuttings thinking i'd have to abandon the OG plant.. cuttings are growing nicely but now there's new growth on the tallest stalk! looking for suggestions on how to salvage this plant without it being super leggy/having all that bare stalk. thanks in advance!

Begonia “little darling” - I’ve kept this cutie under a cloche since it arrived in June 2022. I don’t dare repot it or change anything. It’s such a great pop of color among all the green.

Advice please, My begonia is starting to get dark and shriveled at the base stem. I haven’t watered it for awhile but it does have moist soil. It has been in my bathroom getting filtered indirect light. Could the light not be enough? or the moisture from the shower?
