I need some help please. I’ve had a Rex begonia for a couple of years that had been doing really well until lately. It’s looking kinda tired and worn out. The rhizomes have grown very long and leggy and have grown out of the soil. Do I need to repot it and if so, do I plant the rhizome necks under the soil? This is my only begonia so I’m a bit lost on what to do and haven’t been able to find any guidance on this particular problem. Thank you for any guidance!!

Hey friends! I posted this in foliage heaven first, but I think I’m more likely to get answers here. I got my first two begonias yesterday, and I have no clue how to care for them. Everything I’ve read on the internet contradicts something else I read, and I’m a little lost. Any advice would be appreciated! Also if you know what they are please tell me. Thank you!

Well the Masoniana Iron Cross I got from Home Depot several months ago for $10 is doing really well. I’ve been using Jacks Classic 20-20-20 fertilizer at 1/4 tsp to a gallon and is now pushing some big leaves under a grow light. The biggest leaf you see is “6 across to the tip. The other picture is what it looked like when I got it.

Also back from the dead. Hope I can keep these babes happy moving forward 😂 they were already grumpy but then I left too Tennessee for a week and they decided to drop all their leaves and then hibernated for almost two months after that. Now all of the sudden they love summer acting like nothing ever happened bigger and happier than ever all three of them. This is a big sunny north window but not for much longer of course. my plan is too move them to the winter huddle in the East facing windows with grow lights but I worry future changes will only upset them once again

Okay so in the last two weeks since I posted the one picture this plant grew so much more I had to put an extension on the trellis, now the tips of the leaves a lot of them turned brown and so I trimmed them as best I could, and I pulled the plant away from being directly in front of the share curtain on the Westside window because it does get hot afternoon sun through the share curtain I thought maybe that was just a little too hot for it now that it's been super hot out 🤷♀️ I believe it's doing better, but it's growing fast and I'm wondering if I should probably get it I wonder if this bottom stem is long enough yet or should I wait or should I lop the top off that way and let the plant continue to grow more cuz the top looks pretty nice it was more the bottom leaves also is this plant fussy when propagating or should I just leave it alone 🤔🪴😩

hey my begonia ferox isn’t doing go well, i am growing it in a ambient climate, east facing window with grow light for later in the day and soil that’s mixed with leca. looking for tips for it / if anything im doing is incorrect. (i know i should probably grow it in a cabinet but i currently have thrips in that window and dont wanna bring them into my cabinet) before the thrips she was doing fine but i haven’t noticed any on her or any damage. + looking for tips on how to propagate as well for just in case lol :) Thank you!!

My straw tri begonia is producing a baby as well ! It must be good luck ! I’m so happy for this as well ✨Should I take her off yet ? And if I do leave her on the string and Bobby pin to the soil till she grows roots ?

I dont think ive ever seen a begonia manus with pinkish edges but mine is popping them out with the latest new leaves. is this normal?

Does anyone know what begonia this is.. a super nice member of another group suggested it is a begonia ricinifolia immense. The leaf shape does concur with that but didn’t find it to be the same color with such variegation. Appreciate the help!
