Hey yall, New to the discussion area and this app, but just trying to get some ideas of what kinds of shrubs/plants/etc. to plant in our front flower bed. We ripped up some old shrubs because they were not what we were looking for. Our front landscaping area gets direct sunlight from 12-7 each day, with the right side getting full sun. We have two slender flower beds outside of our dining room and front porch, we are stuck on what best would grow there in such a weird and small spot. Just looking for some ideas of what would be best to plant in the bare areas in these pictures! We are located in central Mississippi

Help please! My raised garden bed appears to be having a mushroom problem. I get they can be helpful, but these guys keep popping up in big ol clumps. Initially it was no big deal until last week when I had 2 masses growing around seedlings and the stems of my green beans. I’m worried they’re feeding off my babies or are overcrowding them. Is this something I should be worried about? What should I do?

FOR NEW POTTING PLANTERS/FARMERS…I’m sure this is a complete rookie mistake, but I’m hoping I save other from this mistake trying start planting first or planting in pots for the first time(me). If you bottom water, take the plants out of the saucers and let them drain, I didn’t know this and is probably why I’ve had such an issue keeping things alive! I wish I knew this sooner, but hopefully it helps someone not make the same mistake! REMOVE YOUR CONTAINERS/POT FROM BOTTOM WATERING CONTAINER/SAUCER! THEY NEED TO DRAIN!

So I ended up killing my banana Peppers due to over watering, so dumped it all in a box and then went outside and scraped up all the surface dirt and nearly decayed leaves and mixed it in and it doubled my soil amount! Should this work fine to reuse as potting soil for a new plant? Also, it dried it way out so it’s just lightly moist soil now!

I trimmed a few branches off the bottom of my dogwood last week. I was going to just toss them in the burn pile but thought I’d try propagating them for fun. If it does work, no biggie, if it does work, yay! So it’s still fairly cold here (NS) and the tree has buds but nothing is open, the ones I trimmed, brought inside and placed in water the buds have opened! Even if they don’t root, pretty cool!!! 🌸

Do I need to replace this water if it’s yellow, or am I fine to keep bottom watering?

What am I doing wrong? This is my first year starting veggies from seed, and I just can’t get the lighting right. My broccoli is both leggy AND scorched, and my lettuce is doing this. I have grow lights exactly 4 inches from the plants, on for 12-16 hours a day. They get watered from below 1-2 times per week. My peppers and cukes are THRIVING, everything else seems to hate me.

Sharing my silly nursery set up 🌱 I tied some LED grow lights on the underside of an unused cat scratcher using some yarn that I had laying around. Two other grow lights are in the plastic bins seen in the pic as well. I wanted to reduce my spending so I made the nursery using things that I already had at home lol Im growing tomatoes, basil, and tomatillo from seed and bought a strawberry and jalapeño plant from home depot.

Hi all! Newbie here :) can you move/transplant a Turks Cap? The previous owner had it planted in an awkward space. I’d like to move her to another part of my backyard but scared I’ll kill it. I’m in zone 8b.

Do seeds go bad? I had success last year with some greens seeds (spinach, lettuce, kale) and this year not so much. I’ve tried inside under a grow light and outside…just rolling the dice. The only difference (besides) age is last year I used those biodegradable nursery pots and I didn’t this year. Would that make a difference too? Scratch my head here…

I just transplanted watermelon seedlings and they are now very droopy. How do I fix it? I am assuming it is shock. There were four plants potted together and I separated them before planting.

Has anyone ever done trenching with bulbs? I live in zone 4a. I have a space in my yard that is an overgrown flower/weed bed. I’d love it to become a space that is low maintenance, blooms at different times (spring, summer, fall) with flowers that I can cut for a bouquet. I recently learned about trenching bulbs. Anyone else have experience with this? Suggestions/tips? Thanks.

I’ve got these beautiful trees around me that are starting to bloom these lovely white flowers, and would love if anyone could tell me what kind of tree this is. I live in zone 7a in PA, if that helps at all. They kinda remind me of cherry blossoms 🌸 I’m thinking it’s a type of pear tree or a white cherry blossom tree. Would love to be able to identify it so I can plant one around my house 😊 TIA for any help in finding out what these trees are!

Hello guys so I move this avocado tree from my backyard to my front yard because it was going to mess up my bed in my garden. I take care of it. I water it. I put new fertilizer, but I’m wondering if the plant is salvageable or if the plant is done for because the leaves are drying out I need help trying to bring this plant to life because I’ve had this plant for four years. They don’t want to die. If anyone can give me any type of feedback on how to bring the plant back to life, that would be wonderful
