Why is my hibiscus so loppy?

I drove this all the way from Denver to California because a boyfriend gave it to me. It is a mum but it looks horrible now. I pruned it by 1/3 so there are no flowers left. Any revival ideas? any other ideas? It seems to take a lot of water and I have it facing east on a balcony in California. Should it be inside or in a shady place?

Last year I started my right hand side flower bed with Mexican petunias. I had to put them all in the graveyard due to a bad Mealybug infestation. I immediately replaced them by adding in Rosemary to my garden. Then I added a different Flowers. This year look at what just popped up in the middle of my Rosemary? Not one but TWO Mexican petunias! I can’t think of a better place for them to grow. Lol. I look at these two as BONUS PLANTS!🤗

I have a lot of gaps in my garden and I don’t know what to fill them with. I want to add tulips for sure, but what else can I plant this late summer and early fall to fill these gaps? I’m in zone 5 and this is a full sun (morning to early afternoon) east facing garden.

Hi, y’all! My neighbors flower bed has these birds of paradise plants & it’s creeping over to my flower bed (YEAH! A freebie!) I assume this is the little cousin to this other kind of bird of paradise?

This is just some of my outdoor plants. I planted three perennials in this raised bed. Far right (to left) back row- Columbine, Dianthus, and Veronica. The bees LOVE Veronica. All sizes of bees are all over her when I go out to water and/or check on her. The other plants in there, continuing in the back row: Gerber Daisy (she's been flowering like crazy). Middle row is all Celosia. Front row from left are New Guinea Impatiens and Lobelia between them. My Lobelia are really struggling in the heat we've been having. Several of them have a lot of dead stems and aren't flowering. I trimmed two of them back to test if that will help them recover.

Looking for recommendations for treating bag worms now (summer; zone 6) and in the future. We pulled a bunch off my beloved blue spruce and cedars today. It’s not the first time we’ve dealt with them, but the first time in several years. How do I prevent round 3!? Note: non-chemical options preferred.

This is the result of just throw out scraps and not really trying to garden fruit and veggies. I love plants I have lots of them but garden is not my strong suit but I’m proud that I’ve kept them alive 🥹

I planted “Siam Tulips” last year. A few resprouted this year, but the house painter trampled most of them😡 this lonely 1 is blooming beautifully!
