And the sadder post. My silver inch plant was really struggling with half of it dying off very quickly. Through some research I found out that watering it with the shower head which I did once was not the smartest move especially as it was still in the same pot and soil from the nursery so all of the roots died. My entire plant was connected to roots in only three spots most of it was disconnected. First photo is how it looked the day I brought it home. I took the time to carefully separate out what was still good and was had already died and then put the cuttings in water. Planta and several websites said that you can safely propagate this plant in water if it is in a spot with bright indirect light. I put it in my window sill with all my other plants that need bright indirect light (second photo shows it in water) and a couple of the cuttings have rotted shown signs of rot on the bottom of the stem. Is there a chance I just missed some spots that had already rooted and the water made it worse? Is there a better way to propagate this plant or am so just waiting it out to see what survives and what doesnât? I also took that last photo before changing the water out. It is back in fresh water and anything that had rotted has been removed.

Happy post first my plants are (mostly) thriving. My purple waffle plant that I posted so concerned about it needing to be repotted has made the decision for me as it has a flower. Itâs little but I didnât even know this plant could flower so definitely not repotting at the moment just keeping an eye on it.

It was a really cold day today! But a beautiful day
So I am nervous about this plant. It was pretty root bound when I got it on clearance several months ago from Walmart and it has thrived as long as I pay attention to it. My concern right now is that it is acting root bound again where I need to water it a lot more often than I was watering it so it doesnât wilt. I already repotted it in October but I am afraid to repot it again now in December as I donât want to chance overwatering and root rot in too big a pot over the winter. The soil is still draining well so itâs not hydrophobic I am just watering about twice as much as I used to where as all my other plants has slowed down due to less light as itâs winter time. Is there a chance that I just didnât put it in a big enough pot in October so going up a pot size again wonât hurt it or would it be better to wait and just water it more often as it needs?

So Iâve had my money tree since May and it really flourished, but now its began getting droopy leaves and brown spots at the end of some leaves. I am not sure if it is because of the season because it is now winter or because I am doing something wrong. I have been watering it by placing the plant in a pot with holes at the bottom in a bigger pot filled with some water.

Also gave a shot at propagating my monstera as well, dabbed the mother plant cutting with some cinnamon to avoid contamination⊠wondering if i should dilute the water with some plant food?

Finally bit the bullet and gave my begonia a pruning to try and water propagate. Any tips on which location the cuttings should be placed?

Anyone else actually name their plants and talk to them as they care for them? (I mean I name my chickens and talk to them too) I feel like my plants do better when I talk to them. Like âGood morning Paul McCartney, youâre looking mighty good this morningâ. âWell hello there Sheldon, you look like you stayed out all night last night! You hungover or something? Need some TLC this morning?â My youngest daughter used to think it was funny but yesterday we went into Loweâs to get some keys made and she wanted to go to the plant section. đ€Ł She picked out a Monstera and before we even got out of the parking lot she name it âKeanu Leavesâ. So I guess sheâs hooked now. đ
