So I am nervous about this plant. It was pretty root bound when I got it on clearance several months ago from Walmart and it has thrived as long as I pay attention to it. My concern right now is that it is acting root bound again where I need to water it a lot more often than I was watering it so it doesn’t wilt. I already repotted it in October but I am afraid to repot it again now in December as I don’t want to chance overwatering and root rot in too big a pot over the winter. The soil is still draining well so it’s not hydrophobic I am just watering about twice as much as I used to where as all my other plants has slowed down due to less light as it’s winter time. Is there a chance that I just didn’t put it in a big enough pot in October so going up a pot size again won’t hurt it or would it be better to wait and just water it more often as it needs?

Can you send a picture of the plant? It is kind of hard to tell without one.

Sorry I thought I had. I’ve now added my most recent photo. Just a heads up some of the leaves are damaged due to cats I’ve checked it’s not pests just cats getting to my plant before I could catch them.

You could try to aerate the soil and poke holes in it, and see if that works. If that doesn’t work, I would repot it.

I have seen you can trim roots but it obviously goes through a shock period if you do so.
