My striped calathea has sticky stuff under its leaves and there appear to be spider webs. What is this? Is it harmful to the plant? What do I do?

Your plant has spider mites and yes they can quickly kill a plant and spread to others. I would rinse it and wipe front and back of all leaves and stems and also treat with insecticide as well as any near by plants.

looks like spider mites :( i’ve been there before and i would wipe down all the leaves and use dish soap diluted in water for the soil or if an option, buy neem oil
