I have wanted an Alocasia for ever and just happened to randomly find a single one in Lowe’s. It was in a pot with no drainage so I immediately repotted it. The leaf with the big yellow spot was already like that, any idea what caused that and if it can be salvaged? Also, the tips of the older leaves are starting to yellow since I got it, is that stress from being repotted or is it something else? Bonus question: any idea what kind of Alocasia it is? It wasn’t specified when I bought it so I tried to identify it by color, but I’m not very confident. The leaves have a very slight silvery sheen to them, but I’m not familiar enough with the varieties to know for sure. Thanks!!

So my Zebrina had a thrips infection. I have cleared it out (I think) and then I moved the plant to a new spot. Recently noticed yellowing of the leaves and drooping. It seems to be struggling and not sure how to get I back, any ideas?
I just got my first black velvet Alocasia today and out of the 6 corms one is pink. I can’t really find anything online about it so I’m hoping someone on here would have information. They all have roots which is why they are in soil. Also my first go around with corms
Help!! I got my baby Colocasia Black Magic about a week ago and the leaf just unfurled a few days ago. I have it in my living room near a grow light (but covered with my sheer curtain) and a humidifier. I noticed this morning that the edges starting drying and discoloring. So far I have only watered once with fertilizer. What could be causing this issue? Has anyone else had the same problem?
Help! I can’t find the name of this plant. I thought it was an alocasia dragons breath but that’s not showing up on planta Update: figured it out. But I’m keeping this pic up bc she’s so pretty and I want to show her off lol
I’ve got a few alocasias that are flowering (some buds already out and some still budding), but this is the first time I’ve ever had it happen. Any suggestions on the best way to care for them while they are flowering? I’ve heard to cut them off. I’ve heard if you cut them off the whole plant will die. Any info helps!
My new baby… Alocasia lauterbachiana varigated
Help! I transferred this Alocasia micholitziana to Lechuza pon a week ago and it’s yellowing/browning, especially the little baby leaves at the base. This is my first alocasia and first experience using pon so any advice would be MUCH appreciated. I’m not sure what a good watering schedule is for this or if I should be using the water reservoir just yet. It’s a lechuza planter. I really want to transition the rest of my plants to pon too and I’m a little intimidated now!! (also, I just moved it away from the window to take photos because it was backlit, she doesn’t live on the floor here)
New leaf on my Alocasia Jacklyn!
Can you help me identify this mystery Alocasia in my nursery?
Help!
Can I save him?
I love how prehistoric Jacklyns look 🦖…. Can’t wait to see this new leaf unfurl 😃
Birthday present to myself!!! 😍 nothing too “fancy” but man does she look it!!
Hello all new to this group! Attempting to grow from corms. 18 total 😬
hey would anyone know why my red secret would start to look like this?
My Black Velvet Alocasia is huge! She sits right in front of a south facing window, so she gets plenty of light, she’s just tall! Her brighter leaf is just about finished coming in and is the first new growth (besides a flower that I’ve cut) since I’ve had her. Each leaf is growing in larger than the last! Since she’s so tall, do you think she might be a hybrid of some sort? She’s not a Ninja, which was my original thought, because she has the characteristic Black Velvet purple underside. She was sold to me as a BV.
My Alocasia Odora “Batik” is growing!!! She’s made me so nervous because she was shipped to me in Maryland from Louisiana and thus had a rough start losing about 3 smaller leaves. One leaf is yellowing now but she’s growing three others!! I’m so proud of her and ANY tips to get her to keep growing and getting stronger are super welcomed! I’ve never raised Alocasias through the fall/winter before. PS- the Planta app says she’s getting too much light, but I don’t think so. The light hitting her in these photos is about as bright as it gets this season, and this is at 4:45pm in early October. But if you have thoughts about that too let me know!
So much growth for my Alocasia Dragon Scale from May until now ☺️
so obsessed with my first frydek!
