My Alocasia grew a HUGE leaf!!
Falcor is quickly becoming my favorite! (Don’t tell Herman or Elmer!!!🤫) As an overly protective plant parent the yellow tip has me worried. It is on the back facing smaller leaf…so maybe natural aging!? Does the new leaf in the full plant picture look like it’s on schedule? Thank you for any advice!🪴🤩
What kind of alocasia is this? 🪴 I won it at plant bingo but there are no tags. Thanks!
I dont know what she ate, her leaves have more than doubled in size!! I love this little girl! My 2nd alocasia. She was near dead on the HD discount shelf. Has come such a long way 🥰
My second Alocasia! My plant shop has it labeled as a Lauterbachiana purple sword. Planta doesn’t know that one exists…what should I label it in this app!?
My Longi surprised me with a huuuge leaf size up! I let my alos look out the window so I forget sometimes how amazing they are!!
Just got Falcor yesterday! The newest leaf there, is it only about half as big as it will become? How long do they typically take between new leaves?
My first introduction into the Alocasia world! 🥳🪴 I’d like everyone to meet Falcor!!! He was in the half off section of a great local plant shop here in the Orlando area! Shout out to The Jungle Room by BWH Plant Co!
Today’s score! $15 😍
What method of transplanting will have the highest success rate? I used to have two separate corms with leaves but this is the only one that made it after some problems with mealy bugs and root rot. I’d hate to have this one die after it’s made it this far! 😓
Local store finds. Found the Cuprea at Publix. Found the Dragon Scales and Silver Dragons at Lowe's.
Don't know anything about Alocasia but I finally repot my Alocasia cuprea last night. How did I do? I’m testing out this semi-hydro setup! #alocasia #cuprea #redsecret
Hey alocasia lovers, don’t be a dummy like me and somehow confuse alocasia’s and Calatheas. lol they don’t even resemble. But my mistake was thinking it’s corms and not rhizomes. Don’t cut your rhizomes calathea parents. Your roots will brown and leaves will loose color immediately. I don’t care what you try she’s dead in 3 days tops.
Ms Polly lives on ✨️ let's see if I have better luck with these corms that I was able to salvage
Just bought this baby from the swap meet and it’s a little beat up. It’s my first alocasia so any advice would be greatly appreciated! 😅 #alocasia #redsecret #rescue
Hi guys! So my alocasia pushed off a nee leaf and dropped an old one which isn’t surprising but after shes getting yellow and im scared shes dropping her biggest leaves i thought it was too much light so i moved her away from the grow light but she keeps getting worse!!
Trader Joe’s did it to me again. I just brought home an Alocasia Polly. My first Alocasia of any kind. I understand they have a little drama that comes with them? Current state: I checked and don’t see any bugs. The soil is dry the top two inches. And I thought I would let her sit ‘as is’ for a couple of weeks to acclimate and then assess for repotting. Does anyone have any additional advice or suggestions?
Can someone tell me what this is , it's outside
I saved this alocasia lutea from the discount table at my favorite local nursery about a month ago. Today she said thanks with this gorgeous new leaf. (She also had about a dozen corms wren I got her so there will be giant taro all over my house soon. ❤️)
My Frydek is finally doing well!
