I harvested some corms a while back and I didnât label them - I thought it would be fun to guess! I planted a few Jacklynâs, Pollyâs, and Melos. Bottom one is clearly a Melo to me, maybe middle also. But Iâm thinking the other might be a Jacklyn - see the mottled coloring? What do yâall think?!
Dear Plant Diary, My Alocasia hates me. That is all.
Help! I am just about done with this plant because I have been dealing with a pest problem for several months now. Unfortunately, itâs one of my most favorite plants because itâs so beautiful, but I canât keep it around because the pests are migrating to my other plants. I will show you a picture of the pest and what Iâve been using to control it. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really donât want to get rid of this plant.
My recent alocasia haul! Had a variegated frydek last year that thrived all summer but died on me with pests + drop in humidity as it got cooler. This time around Iâm feeling more prepared, have a humidifier set up and am feeling good about it! If anyone has some tips or advice, let me know!đ€
On Facebook marketplace, Alocasia pink Cuprea in a 2 inch plastic pot selling for $400 near me! Is this really the market price. Other private sellers near me have plants for $200 to $400! I think the most I have ever paid for a plant is $35. How many of you would pay that for a rare plant. Iâve seen others up to $600 locally. My favorite plant store has a regular selection of plants for several hundreds all the time. Just curious.
Repotted my Silver Dragon to LECA today and found 6 corms. Trying this method to see if they produce for me. Just two liners stapled together close to my kitchen window.
just got this beautiful propagation of a alocasia pink dragon today at a plant festival. i also recently got a black velvet alocasia. i want them to thrive and i was hoping someone well experienced could give me all the tips and tricks to keep them alive.

does anyone know how to get frydeks to stop throwing ghost leaves?? this one has given me three ghost leaves since i got it, and the only leaf with chlorophyll just died. what do i do? it's in a pot with another frydek that's perfectly fine so i don't think it's a light/ temp thing. while they are pretty, i'm getting kind of worried LOL, TIA
I received an Alocasia Mickey Mouse variegated TC in a giveaway. Itâs my first TC and besides getting a TC acclimation kit, I I donât know what else to do. Iâm planning on ordering fluval and perlite which is what the seller recommended, but I thought I would ask the good people of Planta for their advice. First time TC Owner AND first time Alocasia owner. Although I have admired them my whole life. I grew up down the road from a neighbor with a GIANT elephant ear plant and I always wanted one.

So I wanted to make sure this was actually the right plant! It was a housewarming gift from my partner, and I did a TERRIBLE job trying to keep it alive and Iâm trying to bring it back. Is it labeled as the right plant and does anyone have any advice?
Hanging in there. We had some drought ... Some leaf mites or whatever they are lol. And my frydek wanted to push two flowers which took a lot of energy a long time to produce only for me to snip them đ. Ready for a spring reset I know that leaves are on the way.
