New baby, best advice for my 1st hard to care fore plant?🤍🪴
Any help on what to do about my black velvet leaf hanging? It’s always been like this, but I’ve tried rotating it slight recently haven’t given enough time, but any other suggestions?? It’s still very strong, like it wants to be there, not a wilting feeling. Also, should I be cutting off dry leaves around the stem. I kept its bloom there as well. And how should I keep the corns? There’s 3 Thanks!!
New leaf on the Melo 😍
Hi All I’m looking for advice on how to properly care for an Alocasia Jaclyn. I think I I got myself in too deep as a beginner lol. I got her a couple months ago repotted her and placed her a foot or more under grow lights. I ended up scorching the tips of her leaves and killing the youngest leaf that had just come in. I am so sad. Since then she seems stable but not doing much of anything. How can I get her to be happier?
Ok so I keep getting conflicting info when I look up symptoms for curling leaves. In your experience does this look like over watering ….under? I recently tried to convert to pon which is when this started. I checked the roots they are good . I have it in a shallow bit of water until I can figure out what to do .
I just repotted my elephant ear and noticed some growth nodes on the stem. I got some keiki paste this week, so I popped some on the nodes, but I didn’t cut them. Will it do anything, or do I need to notch the nodes? I don’t want to do any damage while it’s doing so well.
My Sliver Dragon has a new leaf unfurling I’m so happy he is dropping one other leaf for it but I’m not mad because he seems to be happy!!
My silver dragon is finally thriving, it took almost a year.
Help! Any suggestions as to why my Watsonia Lightning is turning purple?!? Bought him 2 weeks ago, had new growth which has since opened damaged. Repotted this weekend into better draining soil and removed the sponge like plug from his roots hoping that would help. He is now in my west window(best light) and has a humidifier beside him. I am a newer Alocasia parent so still learning all their quirks and preferences .
Hi everyone, just noticed this pattern on my frydek. He's an otherwise healthy plant with two new leaves coming out and he's standing up straight and perky with no visible root rot. Is this the stomata waking up thirsty or something I should be concerned about?
Got my hands on a variegated silver dragon scale today. It has very slight variegation but I’m so happy with it regardless!
hello all, today i am picking up a Alocasia mickey mouse and Alocasia cupera! Any tips for these guys? I’ve got my chunky soil mix ready and support dowels.
Hi hi! How do we feel about moss pole for supporting floppy regal shields? Mine is super happy but I used a moss pole to support, but I’ve heard conflicting data. 🌱🫧
so i want to transfer my alocasia over to leca as i’ve been having trouble keeping her happy. i want to get this pot because it has the option to hang. i’m looking for input on the self watering feature though, should i pot in leca in the white insert and keep water level below the pot? or should i scrap that and just use the clear plastic? or is it a bad idea all together to use plastic😅i’m new to alocasias this is my first one and i’ve been able to keep her alive but she isn’t thriving. soo i guess should i get this pot or just use a glass vase?
I have a new Frydek Variegated… it came from a corm and was given to me in leca. I’ve potted it in well draining soil and have a humidifier near it. The one leaf still looks crispy on the edge. Am I doing something wrong? Any tips? It’s in the west facing window.
Anyone know what kind of alocasia this is? I cant quite tell i thought it may be a polly but I'm not sure?
I almost killed this big guy when I first brought him home. It took months to get him healthy again after dropping 4 leaves, but I checked on him this morning and was delighted to find new growth!!! Eeyore is putting out a new leaf!!!
My elephant ear is working on its fifth leaf without dropping any old ones! Lush! It does want to lean a bit (hence the stick) so I wonder if it needs a deeper pot.
Hey guys! I have had this little plant for about a week, and the bottom leaf is yellowing? Does anyone have an insight? I have only watered it once and it lives in a humid area of the house and has been misted a couple times. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!!
