My stingray that I started from corm in August is already in need of repot. Should be fun getting those roots out. Lol
Hi, does anyone know what might be wrong with this leaf ?
Sooooooo met with a lady from marketplace to get this plant. I knew it was an alocasia but which variant I didnât know, and still donât know exactly. So anyways. She kept telling me it was an âAngel Wingâ I just agreed with her so I could leave lol she sold it to me for $10. Of course I took it and RANNNNNN AWAYYYYY cause I know what it isâŠ..sort of lol when I scan it in Planta, it keeps telling me itâs a frydek, I donât think itâs. Auseni have one and it doesnât look like this and is lacking variegation lol. Now Planta tells me itâs a maxkowski. Idk. Someone help. What is this alocasia lol
Everyone give Big AL a round of applause for flowering đđŒđđŒ
A week ago from today, I tried switching my alocacia nebula to pon, and about a day later the leaves curled up and havenât uncurled at all since. It had been doing well in a aeroid mix but I was talked into transitioning to pon, because of its convenient infrequent watering. Its always had its leaves begin to curl when the soil got too dry, and has been pretty dramatic regarding moisture in the past. In the past couple days all the leaves have started yellowing. Non of the roots should he waterlogged and it seems moisture is reaching the top level. Is it just still adjusting? Or any advice that can help it recover?

Hello! I somehow got talked into getting an alocasia recently lol I've heard they can be pretty fickle at times, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips for growing them. I appreciate any help! All the lady told me was to let the soil dry completely before watering it. Right now it's in my little greenhouse shelf with usually about 75%+ humidity depending on the time of day, and the temp usually stays around the mid to high 70s. I'm also not sure if I should repot it now, or wait until spring, since it's not growing out the bottom yet. I know some plants like to be a little cramped, but I am a serial repotter upon receiving plants lol and have luckily never dealt with any of them going into major shock or anything.
The newest leaves on my alocasia plants are stunning!
Sad time. I was hoping to get thru winter with Polly thriving and enjoying the season. But the yellow leaves are starting. Two so far. Last year she went dormant earlier than this. Currently Polly has 15 leaves and two shoots coming out of the ground. I was hoping to start spring with many leaves on her. Oh well she will be back in the spring ready to make another big show.
So proud of my alocasia yukitan princess aurea! Grew this little baby from a corm and she is glorious! Canât wait till sheâs old enough to make new corms of her own đ
Ok, so I got this alocasia frydek from Facebook marketplace a month ago. From my plant dealer that I frequent often. Anyone. When I got her, she had 2 leaves, just like in her picture. Well one started drooping and pretty much laid flat and she spit out a new leaf. The two leaves have been standing tall till about 4 days ago. The newest leaf is standing straight up while the other is laying onto the side. I guess Iâm about to get a new leaf lol but I wanna know whatâs the secret to get past this level lol. I want more than 2 leaves. Haha
Whatâs happening to my beautiful alocasia
My Colocasia is unfurling a new leaf. She fell over a month ago and broke a few stems. Every âAIâ plant helper said she was dead. I repotted her and cut off the broken leaves, and now look.
to my absolute surprise my polly fruited!!!! i dont think they're pollinated ( i had no idea the pod was there ) but its so pretty đ„čđ„čđ
Just wanted to share my happy variegated family đ Ignore the monstera, that tc needs the high humidity currently. A mix of tc and corm grown.
Is this normal because she is pushing a new leaf ? No idea what's going on
A few of my alocasias that are in leca are yellowing at the end of the leaves, it doesnât seem to be an underwatering issue but Iâm wondering if Iâm overwatering/letting the roots stay wet for too long. Any thoughts/tips would be helpful! Iâm new ish to using leca!
Needing help. My plant leaves keep getting bigger and then fall and break and I canât get them to come back and have been cutting themâŠ. I have new ones growing but I need to know what to do with them if they are starting to bend and how to cut it if Iâm doing it wrongâŠ.
My new zebrina perked up nicely! Also, I was worried that the new leaf on my dragon scale was damaged in shipping but itâs fully unfurled now and itâs gorgeous. After and before pictures of both.
