Any idea what could have caused this?
Couldn't pass up this alocasia with a perfect, pure white leaf. She is STUNNING! This is only my second alocasia so any pro tips on keeping her happy are appreciated!
Got this on clearance at Walmart! Itâs labeled âFancy Alocasiaâ but Planta doesnât know what that is⊠so what is it really?
AaaaaaaaaâŠ..the maintenance of alocasiasâŠ.đ
What can I do to prevent droopy leaves? Everytime a new one comes out the oldest then starts to drop. I end up chopping it before it even dies bc I just hate looking at it. It hasnât been able to hold onto more than 02 leaves. Does it need more light or should I try a self watering pot? Maybe pon instead of soil??
I LOVE the look of Alocasiaâs and want one, but have been worried about how well one might thrive and the horror stories of people killing ten in a row. Do you think this area can support one? (Where the fake plant currently is) Itâs about 6 feet from a west facing window. Humidity is pretty low- no humidifiers or dehumidifiers in the house, and Iâm in southern california so humidity is usually around like 50-60% I really love the look of these plants and want one, but I know the first time I kill a plant iâll be devastated so I donât want to buy one if iâm just sacrificing it to death.
Shipped from FL to VT, 3 weeks in and may be my new favorite. My first alocasia was a Polly who, for almost a year gave me the worst problems.. But, I'm determined, and more stubborn and picky than they are đđ
Meet my newest plant baby â a stunning Alocasia Frydek Variegated âšđ A gift from my husband (because he knows my plant obsession is real) and Iâm in love. The velvety dark leaves and creamy variegation are pure magic. Sheâs already making herself at home and looking fabulous.
I bought my first Alocasia Sarian about 4 weeks ago and sheâs having a lot of new growth. But after doing more research I noticed that her leaves seem to be very small. Any advice on how to help her grow bigger leaves. She is in a 4 inch pot right now about 3 ft from my east facing window.
What is the best way to check for corms and how often do you do it? I have a Dragon Scale Albo that is a nice size that probably has some nice corms under the surface; She is in pon if that makes a difference
So i got a beautiful Alocasia Polly, and unexpectedly found ten corms when I repotted. In my panic, I went with the puddle method as it was the easiest to do with what I had and Iâve heard good things. Has anyone else used this method or another that they could give me advice on? Itâs my first time getting corms so iâm excited and nervous! Mother plant is doing amazing and has a new leaf coming in too đ„° TIA!
My first alocasia! It was $4 on the sale rack at Lowe's. I repotted and divided into individual plants. Gonna try this self watering terracotta pot I got on clearance at Walmart. đ€ When reporting I even found a corm!
Iâm not 100% on what type of alocasia this is but sheâs doing a lot better from December until now pics before and after
What type of alocaisa do yâall think this is? All my app scanners tell me itâs an amazonica Polly but all my Pollyâs have more of a ruffled edge to the leaf this one is little more smooth. It could be a Polly Iâm just not sure!
*UPDATE!!! When you are plant obsessed and you go to your garden shop for leca⊠đ đ đ sheâs so beautiful! I hate that sheâs going to have to live outside but her size! đđđ Soooo⊠she isnât going to live outside after all. She will live in my new 45 gallon tank. Currently sheâs all washed up and in LECA to acclimate white I get the components needed to get the tank plant ready. But it has been decided!!
Am new here. Posted this same question under Pest/Problems before seeing this group. Bought this Polly last week in perfect condition. Repotted into stratum/perlite & the next day this spot appeared. Any thoughts on cause?
I have 2 nursery black velvet alocasia and was wondering if it will be okay to pot them together? One just sprouted a new leaf and Iâve heard some say that plants grow better together but Im not sure if mine are still too young to do that. Theyâre in about 3â nursery pots right now so I was thinking both in a 4â pot maybe? I havenât checked the root size yet as I just got them a week ago maybe and donât know if the root system is too fragile to handle right nowâŠ
Here are my new babies đ„°
Found a cutie at trader joe's for only $8- how could I say no? Loving my new plant era!eight dollars
I adoooore the light pink shimmer when light hits my alocasia âcupreaâ đ„čâš pictured with and without flash to show just how reflective these dazzling leaves are! Side note â I thrifted this rattan planter for $2 over the weekend, in case anyone gives a hoot đ€Ł
