Good morning all, Just a question, is plant juice considered a good fertilizer or should I be using something else as well? Any advice would be much appreciated. 😊

Been growing these 3 corms from my elephant ear alocasia! Lots of growth and lots of roots. What’s my next step? Do I move them to a bigger container before I plant them? When and how should I plant them?

Hi everyone, I just brought this home a couple of days ago. I've just taken all that bright green moss off of the top, the soil underneath is a very spongy feeling soil. Should I repot right away or should I leave it a couple of weeks to settle into its new environment? Should I keep the moss on top? It is keeping the soil damp. And when I do repot, do I take it right down to the roots or just the root ball? Thanks for the help in advance. 😁

So I germinate corms all the time in water. Randomly a polly and a bambino corm (both amazonicas) decided to grow a beautiful first leaf without any roots. How the heck did that happen!? I went to pot them up today (I always wait for a leaf to form before potting), but there were no roots so I put it back. Why are my corms playing tricks on me????

She is getting a new leaf! I’ve had her maybe two weeks now if that, and I have been a mess about her making it. I’ve done some reading and added some river rock as it’s supposed to help with humidity when watering. When purchased she came in the fluval/perlite. I am happy to see some more growth and makes me feel like I’m doing something right. 🙌🏼

This is the first alocasia I've ever purchased and I thought would stear me VERY clear of owning another. ( I have since gotten another) This "plant" has been my worst nightmare. Purchased from a grocery store, so pretty!! And SOAKED for days! Removed her from the pot, took forever to dry out some, leaves were going mushy, spotted, you name it. Just trouble all around. Almost tossed her a few times. FINALLY, after 9 months seems to be happy and giving me new growth. I am no plant guru, but a fanatic...and this just makes me so happy! I have not lost the battle!!

Just brought this gorgeous Dragon Scale home. Still in the nursery pot, the nursery default soil is a mix of peat moss, pearlite and some compost. I am thinking of repotting in a couple of weeks in a chunkier mix, maybe self-watering pot. What is the set up your Dragon Scale loves? I have a small humidifier right next to it, the home is warm and it is getting plenty of light. I know they are total drama queens but I am in love with them.

First Alocasia. The new leaf looks weird. It is a bit cold (64) where it is but there isn’t a warmer location I can put it. I have one of those ikea mini green house but it isn’t any warmer.

Hi everyone! I just got this lil baby variegated Frydek in the mail today. He’s so pretty and I am TERRIFIED to kill him! Generally I’m pretty good with plants, and most of my plants are tropical. I have humidifiers and a grow light for everybody. Anyone have tips on helping him thrive?

i read an article saying that alocasias thrive in temps of about 77-95 or so.. is this true? has anyone had experience with keeping an alocasia under a heated mat or wrapping their pot with a “jacket” of some sort?

My alocacia zebrina finally died. I checked out the roots and they didn't look good. From the core I pulled out these kernels. What can I do with them? Will they grow? water? ? Plant in soil? Keep in water??

Is this a glitch??? Typically I water my plants based on Planta’s schedule and I haven’t had any problems. Sometimes I’m a day or two off. But today I watered all of my plants and noticed it was saying to water some of my alocasias again in 2 days. I know that’s wrong, bc alocasias would hate me if I gave them that much water, so I’m not going to do it, but what’s going on?? Is this a glitch?? Thanks!
