I bought a âDragonâ today!!!!! Alocacia Gray Dragon!!!đČđ
So proud of my two alocasias
hello alocasia community! iâve had to repot my alocasia âfrydekâ variegation and wanted to show off its roots :) look at the corms forming!!! iâve already cut 3 and placed them in a jar with some water and saran wrap around the top. is there any suggestions on how to propagate these babies?? tyia!
Allow me to introduce you to my two new plant friends! I got them in the mail today from BWH and they are stunning! Frodo is a variegated Frydek and Iâm so excited because he also has two new leaves that will hopefully be OK and open soon (since he was shipped I worry about any shipping trauma.) Smaug is a mint variegated green dragon scale mint. Iâm thrilled with them. Anyone have any alocasia tips?
This plant seemed to be very happy until today⊠very sudden drooping! The newest leaf / stem (the one in front, facing the camera) was more upright like the other two until today. I water when the soil is pretty much dried out, not sure if Iâve ever fertilized yet (bought it in the last month or two), and it always sits here by the window which gets direct sunlight a few hours a day. Is this normal giant alocasia behavior or is something maybe wrong?
Repot day for my Polly, Silver Dragon and Miri. I love recycling the cost farms self watering pots. The Silver Dragon and Miri were rescues from Loweâs that had spider mites. They have done very well since getting treated and the Silver Dragon is even throwing a new leaf. I usually wait to repot once the leaf is in, but the soil it was in was horrible and staying way too wet.
Scored at Trader Joeâs today but Iâm just not positive on what these two are other than Alocasia I think the one with the white veins is a Polly tho
My poor Dragonâs Tooth arrived with a stake through the leaf. Should I cut this leaf off or will it scar up and survive? I have never had an Alocasia with such bad damage before.
My newest addition as of 10 minutes ago.
This was the tissue cultures I was most excited for to arrive. Hopefully she will acclimate and grow beautifully. Seemed to be a very healthy Specimen with excellent roots.
hey fellow alocasia lovers i can really only manage to have like three decently sized leaves on my variegated alocasia frydek, and so far itâs dropped the smallest two leaves i believe to have enough resources to produce the bigger leaves. i havenât cut the smaller ones off to allow the plant to get all nutrients and energy from them, but i was wondering about all the best tips on how i could allow her to grow more leaves, and be able to sustain them. what i have so far: - cup underneath the pot filled with a small amount of water to promote humidity (not filled all the way up to the bottom of the pot) - placed like directly in front of my west facing window, but showing no signs of sunburn - iâve been spraying to promote humidity - soil consists of regular soil, perlite, and orchid bark. - i water it every week with distilled water, and give it plant food every month - iâm putting in that beaded slow release fertilizer in december - i have it propped up on a stick, because the leaves have long stems towards my window (any way to fix the super long stems?) - also, i was wondering if using pon would be a good idea? would it be a better soil for it? anything helps!!! đđ
I brought home this beautiful huge alocasia today, anyone know what variety it is because of course it wasnât labeled đ
Hi ! My tiny alocasia came with a mesh. When should I remove it ? Seller's instructions were to put her in soil with the mesh. Please help, thanks!!!
Happy Fridayyyy my Regal Shield is showing off this morning đżđ

Just received this Baby Pink Polly from Bayside Nursery on Etsy. Literally so stunning. The pictures donât even do the coloring justice.

This Dragonscale has lost a lot of leaves in its lifetime but I've never seen anything like this. All other leaves are healthy. Any guesses on what caused it?
