My first corm experience! I looked into what I should do, and while I know some people hate the bottle cap method, others swear by it and I didn’t have any sphagnum moss (nor do I really want any due to unethical harvesting). Anyway, I gently peeled the outer brown layer so it looked a cream colour… and now it’s brown again? What’s going on here? Do I peel it again? Any insights would be much appreciated. Thank you! Hey babes, so I got this alocasia from the grocer and it was dying so I felt bad, I got it to grow a new leaf and so I cut the old one off now the new one is dying, so idk what I’m doing, it was growing strong and now it’s not.. is it normal for it to do this in the winter? Will it grow back if the leaf dies? I need all the types please😊

does anyone know what’s on my newest leaf of my silver dragon? i want to say it’s a little bit of variegation but i’m not sure. it had a little bit of trouble coming out so there’s a small hole in it and it’s still hardening. i’ve had it for about 2 months now and check it daily, there is no sign of pest damage or pests

I accidentally bought some melos a few months ago and they've been doing well but after their last watering they've continued to get sick. It's been a while. What do you think is wrong with them and can this be salvaged? All help is appreciated

I bought this beautiful Alocasia Frydek var. a month ago and it’s been growing beautifully. I have it in a little green house for moisture. Today I notice this little impostor growing alone with my plant. Does anybody know what could it be? And whether I should keep it or throw away? Tia

Hi people you may have seen me post about my pink dragon last week or so, it was treated with a. Fungicide and got rid of the spots on the new leaf, it’s been fine up until now and I’ve checked this morning, what on earth has happened, it has been near a heater (not too close) as it was attempting to unfurl a leaf and looked stuck, not sure if it’s burnt but that one black part just fell apart and it’s obviously yellowing. Since i bought it it’s been treated, cleaned, and repotted into new soil, any idea anyone?

They started crispy (I went on vacation for 5 days and came back to brown dry tips) but now feel leathery (like overwatering? but I watered them the same once I was back, I didn’t try to over compensate) are they just not done with their tantrum or should I actually alter something in their care?? Environment: under grow lights for 12 hours, 1.5 feet away from warm mist humidifier (runs for 6 hours daily), on pebble tray, I let the soil dry out almost completely before watering. They also get bird sounds for 4 hours a day so they don’t have much to complain about honestly. They were sold to me as a Sinuata and Dragon Scale respectively as pups, although I question if they’re both Dragon Scale often!!

Is anyone in SoCal that would like a Silver Dragon corm? I have too many and about to just throw them out.

Okay I read that when your Alocasia drips, it’s been over watered. I’ve also read they like to be on the drier side. So I let mine dry out, past the dripping stage, then watered. Aaaaand she’s dropping her leaves. What do they need?!

Two things. 1. Look at this new leaf! It’s huge compared to the others 🤩 2. My other one is dropping leafs like crazy.. could it just be dropping cause it’s getting cold? Or could I be doing something wrong? Also it looks like it’s trying to push out another leaf too.

Can anyone tell me what Alocasia this is?

I've had this Jacklyn for a few months now. I got it with two small leaves then it pushes out these two ginormous leaves. They went from being fine yesterday to now soft and flimsy with one of them now wheeping. She has been in a self watering planter with pon since I got her. The only thing that I can think of that has changed is that it's getting cooler at night. Zero signs of any pests. Thoughts?
