I had a rhizome fall out of the pot on a new plant my aunt got me. The house sitter unfortunately put it into water and the bottom was a bit brown and soggy. I wiped off dead material and dried it off but am not sure what to do from here. Should I let it dry and form a callous, or should I repot immediately?
Hi all! I’m new to alocasias these little brown spots were not there a few days ago .. I repotted and it’s now under a grow light but what could the spots be? They look almost sticky ?
I was terrified to receive this guy after he originally got lost in the mail for over a week, but only a few days repotted and in the greenhouse he has already given me a new leaf! Also do we think I let the small leaf grow or snip it off to let the plant focus on newer growth??? Lmk!
Leaf on the grow
Ok it's become an emergency... Etsy is very dangerous. A seller whom I have already received my order from decided to mail me a duplicate order no warning no notification. One of said plants is colocasia which I regret ordering to begin with because they are so large. I can maybe house 1 but every summer it will be very large. I tried to cancel an upcoming order of two colocasia seller said no and we're sending you an extra plant along with them. 🤦🏽♂️ And today's surprise delivery now brings the colocasia count to 4! Fully grown these could take up 100 SQ feet of my apartment at least 60-80 😂😂😂
Always on the move every day a new pose. Leaf after leaf.
bought this “jumbo” alocasia from TJ’s yesterday — i doubt that’s the real name lol. it’s in its original (8” diameter) plastic pot. i’ve heard mixed things about the soil / medium that plants are kept in in-store, like this. should i repot right away? should i leave it be? p.s. i think it might be an alocasia macrorrhizos ‘stingray’ ? but lmk if anyone knows for sure
I’m SO excited! Brand new leaf on my Polly fixin’ to unfurl!! 😳❤️❤️❤️
Well I did it. 🥰
Nothing better than a new leaf! But I'm worried about these spots. I'm new to plants. Fungal??
I hit the jackpot at Lowe’s today! 4 new Alocasia x amazonica (Amazonian Elephant Ear) 💚💚💚💚 Alocasias are my fav plant ☺️
I saw this beautiful little Alocasia at the grocery store today for $6.99! Immediately checked the roots, which look great. But…the potting medium is weird and spongy and almost like a dense brownie. I have no clue what to do or how to remove it without damaging the roots. Do I leave it as is for now or repot? Any help would be great!
Came in the mail looking so vibrant today
Came out the box today looking amazing! I do recommend this seller on Etsy haha so far so good!
More Alocasia love! How can I not when she's clearly strutting her stuff. She has taken to her new pot, aggressively! New leaf so variegated! What I jokingly call her "bum leaf" has finally shown some age spots today :/ cutie! Already showing signs of a new leaf too come! I expect her to outgrow this pot very soon! Ms Frangelica! House of Alocasia, Frydek, the variegated chapter 💅🏽
New leaf is growing so big
Baby is finally pushing leaves !!!
