We did it, Joe! 😭
I know the smallest leaf is yellowing but why is the other leaf drooping so much? 🥺 is it bc of the new leaf coming in orrrr?
what do alocasia like more humidity or high light? i have mine currently in my bathroom in my shower, which has the same window as my bedroom it’s just smaller and the bottom half has a filter over it so it defuses the light. i’m wondering if they would be happier in my bedroom that has my best window for light. i have a black stem, jacklyn and sliver dragon. Thanks!! first is the bathroom second is bedroom, i know i don’t have much light in a general but im trying to make it work.
Alocasia Jacklyn thriving! First pic is from June 1st, 2nd pic from August 26th!
5 big leaves, a baby with 3, and just removed 6 corms!
Picked up this variegated alocasia for $14 at Lowe's in early July. She's been thriving since I brought her home! 🤍! 🤍
My elephant ear has given me a seed pod. I only know that’s what it is because I thought it was having a hard time unfurling a leaf so I went out there with a q-tip and warm water to help, and well…found seeds. What do I do now!?
My first Alocasia!! She’s stunning 🥰 I would love any tips to keep her happy!
So I have this Alocasia Wentii (I think that’s what it is) but I’m having this issue of every time it put out a new leaf the old one will die off. I cannot for the life of me figure out why, can someone help? I have it quarantined rn just incase it has pest but it’s been a week and I have not seen anything. I’ve had it for about 6 months now and 3 of its leaves have died off. Please help.
My son sent me a pic of his alocasia asking me what’s wrong.. I am deferring to you experts as I don’t have any luck with these drama queens
Hi all, I just received a few Alocasia plants. A Black Velvet, a Melo and a Mickey Mouse. I have been doing a ton of research and I’m having some confusion with humidity and light. I have read some that say north or east facing windows are great. Some say west. I am also considering artificial lighting for ease of location rather than finding a window. For humidity, I live in Colorado where it’s pretty dry. I currently have them on a pebble dish with water, but I’m not sure that’s enough. I do have large glass vases and thought about putting a pebble dish in them with the alocasia sitting inside of them. I’m just not sure. I am open to all and any suggestions. Humid plants are pretty new to me and I want to make sure I’m doing it correctly.
Hi guys! My friend just gave me this Alocasia and said it’s currently dormant… idk how long she has had it or how long it has gone without water. Tips on what I should do? It’s my first Alocasia so I wanna make sure I do what I can to be successful!
What’s wrong with my Alocasia dragon scale? Some spots are starting to get yellow and it is also getting a bit crispy. I mist her everyday and she gets bright indirect light. I also don’t let her dry out a-lot because I know they aren’t a fan of that. She does have a new leaf coming up so maybe this old leaf is just dying? TIA!!!
My Black Velvet has been doing amazing and has even had offshoots. In the time span that I’ve had her the previous offshoots fell off or just died, so I started taking a hands off approach. Which has been working out in my favor, because new leaves were growing and she’s even flowered a few times. However, this is the first time I’ve had the offshoot get this big and it’s bulbous. im pretty sure it’s a corm that’s formed, but I want to be certain. I would appreciate any advice on what I should do to see it actually grow.
I recently purchased this Alocasia Jacklyn and repotted it into a terracotta pot. However I feel like the pot is noticeably cold to the touch and I worry it’s going to affect the root health. Any suggestions on how to keep it warm? Or should I switch to a different pot?
AH! Help, please! What did I do to her and how do I fix it???
To cut or not to cut an all white leaf 🤔
Got my DREAM plant today 😍 (Alocasia Morocco Variegated) Let’s hope she likes her new home! 🫶🏻
Does anyone have their Alocasias in leca? HELP 😊. I transferred her about 2 1/2 months ago. She was doing GREAT! Even put out a new leaf. Last time I went to check the water level I noticed the yellow and brown, with “mushy” tips and thought I mixed my nutrient solution to strong. So I adjusted it and topped off the cache pot (filling about 1/3). The leaf with the significant “yuck”, has developed since that. Thoughts? Do you let the cache pot be DRY before you add more nutrient solution?
My Black Velvet is flowering! 😧🙊😍
