My alcoasia black velvet has definitely fallen ill. I repotted to a pot with better drainage and I thought she was getting better with this new growth but this white chalky thing just came out instead of a new leaf đ does anyone have any idea what is going on? New to plantsâŠ
Hi all. I got this alocasia melo over the weekend. Any idea why its leaves are turning limey green/yellow? Thanks!
Iâm in the process of transitioning my alocasia polly to leca and I found a bunch of corms while repotting! Any tips for propagation?

I went away for two weeks and my Alocasia (Polly?) is doing very bad. It lost a leaf. Any tips for bringing this baby back?
This Black Velvet was bought with 2 leaves. One of them was imperfect so I trimmed it. It seemed fine for a while but I just noticed a quick progression of yellowing as shown in the update photo. Iâve cut the leaf off and thrown it away. Where itâs not just yellowing, but also has some dry graying on the end, Iâm hoping that itâs unique enough to help you all identify exactly what the problem was. The other leaf is in perfect condition and there is another leaf starting to pop out. The yellow leaf is the oldest leaf if that helps. Thank you for any feedback you might have.
Please help identify! I bought it knowing what it was but have completely forgotten đ«Ł
Question, whats the best alocasia for a person who is new to alocasias?
Does anyone know what is causing these brown tips? I donât think itâs a humidity thing. Theyâre not dry and the plant is right next to a humidifier. Itâs planted in leca and I water it with purived plant food.

So sheâs been doing well but is in a transition period from soil to lechuza pon, so sheâs slowly trying to transform her soil roots to water roots⊠could that be why Iâm getting spots like this? Looks like overwatering to me so Iâm thinking the pon is only dry on top and I need to stick to a strict schedule as itâs holding more moisture in the bottom pebbles than I realize. Cause itâs not like soil, itâs hard to dip your finger to feel tiny pebbles lol⊠makes a mess by spilling them over the pot. My thoughts were I needed to water once a week and adding a tiny bit to the reservoir to help it grow water roots, is that too often? Sometimes I may even add water sooner than a week if I notice leaves curling a bit but maybe I need to focus on humidity vs. watering. Thoughts?

Got this dying low rider about 6 months ago, itâs now thriving! They are high maintenance plants but once you figure them out itâs so rewarding. đ„°
