I won a mystery corm on a Whatnot app auction. The corm is already in a corm cup, and it has been doing great with one exception. It looks like the roots and the plant are all coming from the one end. The other end of the corm isnât growing anything at all. This really IS a mystery. Has this ever happened to anyone else? And if so, what do I do about it? Anything?
my var. frydek is popping out this super white baby leaf!! iâm gonna see how long it lasts, iâll cut it if i have to but very reluctantly đ so pretty!
My alocasia polly has a bud coming out of a flower stem I cut off. Is this a leaf or another flower? This plant was a rescue and already dropped one leaf and flowered, which I cut off. If it's a flower, would love some advice. It has a humidifier. I think it may do better in the summer when we stop getting these temperature fluxuations. My house does get down to 65 F.
Found this at the same shop on sale for $12 <3
Just got this variegated Frydek less than a month ago, and the first leaf it gave me is all white with the tiniest speck of green. đ To cut or not cut? That is the question.
đż Feeling accomplished today! Alocasia and I have always had a complicated relationship â Iâve lost that battle more times than I can count. But THIS is the first one Iâve ever managed to keep alive past the month mark, and I couldnât be prouder! đđŒ To top it off⊠I didnât even know they could flower â and it smells absolutely amazing! âșïž Proof that persistence (and maybe a little luck) pays off! đž #HappyPlantDad #AlocasiaLove #PlantWin #NewPlantParent #PlantCommunity #GreenThumb
first new leaf on my baby frydek! the other one is shooting out a ghost leaf, but i think that one will have to go, because that stem only has one other itty bitty leaf đ
My Black Velvet started to emerge its first flower đž and a new leaf at the same time! (Second photo is from a month ago, but really shows off the rest of the leaves) đż
Obsessed with the newest largest leaf on my mint Alocasia Dragon Scale đ
Shes so beautiful đđ
Hi! I got a few small alocasias in February that Iâm a little worried about, i originally kept all of them in my indoor greenhouse but it seemed like a few of them didnât appreciate it (I wasnât sure if it was the humidity, sun intensity, or my watering schedule) either way I took them out and out them with my main group of plants (I believe the window they are in is east/ southeast) I water them about once a week (I let the water run through the bottom and put them back) and keep my greenhouse pretty humid during the day (I let it air out at night as i havenât gotten around to ordering any fans for it) but now that they arenât in there the humidity is definitely less. I have a few older ones that are doing fine in my greenhouse and even one of the babyâs is still in there doing well though so Iâm just a little confused. Do you all have any advice for these specific ones as they are doing the worst out of my collection. (Also sorry for the long paragraph I have a hard time deciding whatâs important and whatâs not lol) Thank you in advance!
Found this one on sale $44 to $10!!! My first one đ
Progress Update! :D Months ago I had posted here seeking advice about my alocasia frydek that had started drooping dramatically because I moved it a foot. After a long struggle of it completely dying back, it has been a slow journey growing back, and it's finally back to three leaves lmao (ignore the crispy little calathea, we don't talk about her)
I am so beyond excited that I found this beauty at home depot. I was about to leave and she caught my eye
I have my 1 year old elephant ear, whom I have a love-hate relationship with. Iâve grown her from a bulb and had a maximum of three leaves at a time on her. Right now Iâm down to one, the newest, and I just noticed that there is a mushroom thatâs sprouted in her pot. The naturalist in me says leave it- letâs see what else happens in this mini ecosystem. But Iâm concerned Iâd be letting it take nutrients from the plant in such a small setting. Any thoughts?
So I potted my alocasia Amazonia is the wrong soil Friday. Is it too soon to fix it? I donât want to shock the plant. Someone help!đ©
Rhaenyraâs two newest leaves đ sheâs outgrowing my little greenhouse!
Repotting season! I feel like I've only just caught up with this one TBH.
Two of my babies are flowering đđ
