Question - why do the small leaves get droopy if the rest of the plant looks healthy? This is my second small leaf in a week to droop :(

I posted yesterday how I was excited that I found BOGO Alocasia in my local grocery store and I am excited, but it’s also sad how they aren’t really treated well there. I repotted the four I got yesterday and they all had good roots, but 3/4 were completely root-bound and my silver dragon was starting to get root rot. It just makes me sad to think that they either get completely passed up or bought and neglected (a lot of times).

Just received this Alocasia bisma as a gift. Good roots and changed to a chunkier soil. This is my first Alocasia (i’ve been scared to buy one lol) so any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!! 🌱

My azlanii is pushing out a new leaf! Yay! The big green leaf has had these dots for a few months and they have stayed like that. And no, it is not thrips. I check him 2-3x per month and spray with neem oil each time. He also has systemic granules in the soil. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what it was or how I can make Nyx thrive. The dying leaf in the back was deformed when it came out so i’m not surprised it’s falling off, but a new leaf is coming from it too so I haven’t cut it.

Hi! I just purchased my first Alocasia - it’s a baby Alocasia Jacklyn. Almost my entire plant collection is made up of Hoya so needless to say I’m nervous. Any advice or tips to keep this plant happy and healthy would be so appreciated!!!! Thank you :)

I have three problem Alocasias. First off my Yucatán princess is always getting mites (in soil). She does amazing and bounces back and after she puts out a new leaf, the older one starts yellowing and I start to see mites and fuzzy white bugs. Is this a forever maintenance plant where I have to treat for bugs once a month? Second, my Polly is bad, like so bad I don’t even want to show pictures bad. I switched it to hydroponics and it’s slightly better but still browning. No bugs, just struggling to live. What do I do? And lastly, my dark star got spider mites on all but two leaves. I decided to just chop them and new leaves are coming in, but is it common for them to always get spider mites? I want to make sure I keep that one separate if that’s the case. The dark star is in hydro too. All follow a fertilizer schedule and watered as needed. I love Alocasias but I’m struggling with these three and bugs.

This guy used to be doing so well but is now down to 2 leaves! It was thriving when I got it over a year ago and grew a few leaves. It now has been stable for the past few months with just these 2 but I’m worried it might die. I keep the soil relatively moist/follow planta’s timeline. I mist it occasionally and even keep a plate of water underneath it to help with humidity. Any suggestions?

droopy dragon scale it was great when i got it and my other knes are fine idk what up w this one light is good and humidity is good bc its in my bathroom its js a bit sad and its been a few weeks so idk i did repot her but she should have adjusted by now

Alas. My Mythic Sinuata has a serious issue. 😳 She was doing great. But I added a grow light, and I’m thinking I put it too close. In just two days I lost a leaf. I moved that grow light, but a couple of days later, lost another leaf. As I was checking the stem, the whole thing just kinda popped off in my hand. Then I thought maybe she had root rot. But no. The roots looked good. There were several (corms?). One as big around as my index fingernail, three or four more as big as a small pea. I stuck them all (along with the roots that were attached to them) into a pot with soil. Did I do the right thing? Or should they go into water to propagate? Any other suggestions!

I got this Alocasia Bisma in the mail a couple days ago, I removed the peat and put it in soil and it seems to be doing ok… for now. Any recommendations? I always damage my Alocasia back down to the corm 😬 no problem growing it back but when they have leaves they hate me

I'm concerned that this leaf is turning red last time this happened it died the sunroom is around 70 degrees and 70% ish humidity I have it in the east facing bright window with a sheer curtain what am I doing wrong do you think I need to downsize the pot? 🤦😩
