We have a flower! đ„° Alocacia Silver Dragon
my half and half is glistening, alocasia frydek my beloved. Grew a new leaf as soon as I fed it and gave it a window view âš
Omg this guy is killing me! For the 2nd time Iâve found thrips . I first got it as a tiny starter then noticed the leaves getting droopy & yellow & after looking at it noticed little guys walking around . I treated it got rid of them & hadnât found any on any other plants . That was last winter. Today I look at it & see yellow & other spots so put it up to a grow light & omg there they are ! Itâs been growing looking good growing new leaves so hadnât thought much about it . I cut off the janky leaves & soaked it in a Castile soap alcohol & peroxide mix ( liquiddirt recipe itâs actually supposed to be a spray đ) & visually they are gone at least for now.Iâm not worried about soil issues because I have had it in Pon since I got it . It seems like itâs only this plant wth is it with this freaking plant ? Donât get me wrong Iâm glad I havenât found it spreading but omg !
I was so exited when this leaf came out itâs the biggest one so far . I got this plant a few months ago with the plant healthy but the leaves being deformed . Itâs perfect! đ I thought Iâd post a pic of my new cuprea leaf as well . The coloring is a little off because of the lighting rt now but look how shiny đ„č
Do we think it heard me talking smack đ€đ€đ±

I just wanted to brag on this plant. I got it in July where Iâve actually neglected it a bit, but it has thrived and given me such massive leaves and so much new growth. It had one leaf and one that was starting to unfurl when I got it and it has just done incredible. Itâs given me 5 new leaves and that is absolutely massive since July. New pictures were taken today and hand picture for size reference.
My black velvet is doing everything but maintaining its leaves đđ corm central meanwhile it has one leaf
We did it, Joe! đ
I know the smallest leaf is yellowing but why is the other leaf drooping so much? đ„ș is it bc of the new leaf coming in orrrr?
what do alocasia like more humidity or high light? i have mine currently in my bathroom in my shower, which has the same window as my bedroom itâs just smaller and the bottom half has a filter over it so it defuses the light. iâm wondering if they would be happier in my bedroom that has my best window for light. i have a black stem, jacklyn and sliver dragon. Thanks!! first is the bathroom second is bedroom, i know i donât have much light in a general but im trying to make it work.
Alocasia Jacklyn thriving! First pic is from June 1st, 2nd pic from August 26th!
5 big leaves, a baby with 3, and just removed 6 corms!
Picked up this variegated alocasia for $14 at Lowe's in early July. She's been thriving since I brought her home! đ€! đ€
My elephant ear has given me a seed pod. I only know thatâs what it is because I thought it was having a hard time unfurling a leaf so I went out there with a q-tip and warm water to help, and wellâŠfound seeds. What do I do now!?
My first Alocasia!! Sheâs stunning đ„° I would love any tips to keep her happy!
So I have this Alocasia Wentii (I think thatâs what it is) but Iâm having this issue of every time it put out a new leaf the old one will die off. I cannot for the life of me figure out why, can someone help? I have it quarantined rn just incase it has pest but itâs been a week and I have not seen anything. Iâve had it for about 6 months now and 3 of its leaves have died off. Please help.
My son sent me a pic of his alocasia asking me whatâs wrong.. I am deferring to you experts as I donât have any luck with these drama queens
Hi all, I just received a few Alocasia plants. A Black Velvet, a Melo and a Mickey Mouse. I have been doing a ton of research and Iâm having some confusion with humidity and light. I have read some that say north or east facing windows are great. Some say west. I am also considering artificial lighting for ease of location rather than finding a window. For humidity, I live in Colorado where itâs pretty dry. I currently have them on a pebble dish with water, but Iâm not sure thatâs enough. I do have large glass vases and thought about putting a pebble dish in them with the alocasia sitting inside of them. Iâm just not sure. I am open to all and any suggestions. Humid plants are pretty new to me and I want to make sure Iâm doing it correctly.
