Anyone know where to buy Alocasia corms?
Didnāt plan on getting another plant today but found this little Maharani that had corms growing off the plant today and couldnāt pass it up. Ended up getting this along with 7 corms all for the price of one š!
Soo I was switching out my soil for a lot of my plants to a more chucky mixture and I found some sliver dragon corms and Iām so happy my first Alocasia babiess two of them already have good roots as well
Would love some advice please.. Iām fairly new to Alocasiaās and purchased this beautiful Stingray almost a month ago, It seems to be doing well and has recently sprouted two new leaves! I have never kept a plant in stratum & water before. What do I do about repotting when the time comes? I am fine keeping her in the stratum or transferring her to soil if needed but Iām not sure how that process would work or which one would be better. She seem really happy in the stratum. How would I go about moving her to a larger container of it when the time comes. I donāt want to ruin her! TIA & Happy Easter!
Hi there, I repotted my dragon scale to an aroid mix after over a year of being in typical potting soil. I also noticed that it started to get brown spots. Now that itās in a new mix, it looks like itās not liking it. Not sure what to do next? Help please
Help!!! Iāve been putting my alocasias in water to transition them to pon . Itās been going just fine until today I noticed the tip of a few of the corms are rotting. My Variegated frydek, Polly, Silver Dragon, and Dragons Breath all are having this issue. For now I put less water in so it doesnāt touch the rotten bottom of the corm. Except the Veriegated frydek, I put that one in a mix of fluval stratum, pon, & perlite. Should I take it out and place it in water too with the water not touching the very bottom? Problem is the plant is very tall and Iām not sure how to keep it from touching the water! It only has one leaf so nothing will grip to the jar I use, it will just fall straight in. Any info would be great because I have read numerous places that alocasia do not rot in water! Iām so frustrated.
hi everyone! here's my first ever alocasia :) just picked up this baby silver dragon and i would love some tips on how to better care for it. (previous owner already had it planted in pon)
what should i do with this yellow leaf on my nairobi nights alo? should i let her fall off or cut her - and if i cut her, where from? :(

Any help on what to do about my black velvet leaf hanging? Itās always been like this, but Iāve tried rotating it slight recently havenāt given enough time, but any other suggestions?? Itās still very strong, like it wants to be there, not a wilting feeling. Also, should I be cutting off dry leaves around the stem. I kept its bloom there as well. And how should I keep the corns? Thereās 3 Thanks!!
New leaf on the Melo š
Hi All Iām looking for advice on how to properly care for an Alocasia Jaclyn. I think I I got myself in too deep as a beginner lol. I got her a couple months ago repotted her and placed her a foot or more under grow lights. I ended up scorching the tips of her leaves and killing the youngest leaf that had just come in. I am so sad. Since then she seems stable but not doing much of anything. How can I get her to be happier?
Ok so I keep getting conflicting info when I look up symptoms for curling leaves. In your experience does this look like over watering ā¦.under? I recently tried to convert to pon which is when this started. I checked the roots they are good . I have it in a shallow bit of water until I can figure out what to do .
I just repotted my elephant ear and noticed some growth nodes on the stem. I got some keiki paste this week, so I popped some on the nodes, but I didnāt cut them. Will it do anything, or do I need to notch the nodes? I donāt want to do any damage while itās doing so well.
My Sliver Dragon has a new leaf unfurling Iām so happy he is dropping one other leaf for it but Iām not mad because he seems to be happy!!
My silver dragon is finally thriving, it took almost a year.
Help! Any suggestions as to why my Watsonia Lightning is turning purple?!? Bought him 2 weeks ago, had new growth which has since opened damaged. Repotted this weekend into better draining soil and removed the sponge like plug from his roots hoping that would help. He is now in my west window(best light) and has a humidifier beside him. I am a newer Alocasia parent so still learning all their quirks and preferences .
Hi everyone, just noticed this pattern on my frydek. He's an otherwise healthy plant with two new leaves coming out and he's standing up straight and perky with no visible root rot. Is this the stomata waking up thirsty or something I should be concerned about?
