Hey everyone! Iâm obsessed with Alocasias. Iâm thinking about getting some Colocasias soon. I love elephant ears! đ
My most prized plant. She has produced so many corms. đ
I was so sad because I had to chop a leaf from my Alocasia black velvet, but then today I noticed this new leaf coming in!! Also does anyone know if that brown tissue paper looking stuff on the base of the stems is normal?
Alocasia Maharani, finally putting out new growth after throwing a fit post transfer, from soil to LECA, and dropping all her old leaves. Such drama. đ
Alocasia Nebula, in net pot/cache pot setup with LECA. Each new leaf is bigger than the one before đ
Do I need to repot my alocasia zebrina again? I repotted it about a month ago because it was root bound and wouldnât stand up on its own. As I was watering it today I noticed that some roots are starting to poke out the bottom already. I donât want to cause stress by repotting too soon. Any suggestions?
Just lucked out and found this beauty at my local grocery store for $15! Hereâs my dilemma, should I transfer straight to LECA, or leave her alone for now? Iâve successfully transferred my other Alocasia (Nebula and Maharani), but lost most of the original leaves in the process, which I wouldnât normally mindâŠbut man I hate to lose this variegated beauty, especially not knowing if Iâll get anotherâŠ. On the other hand, I donât have any soil plants indoors, and with this coming from a big chain store, thereâs no telling what might be going on under the surface (pests, rot, etc.). What would you do?
Going to post this in two groups. This is not my picture but found it on Reddit trying to find answers for something similar but in a much milder form happening on one of my Alocasia leaves. Does anyone know what this could be? No pests were found at all. Itâs like small yellow spots. Donât think itâs fungal or bacterial because often that is accompanied by wilty leaves and brown halos. Any advice is welcome.
New leaf on my Dragon Scale is so matte! I love it đ
Do you guys know why my plant would have spots like this? Itâs in the sun, could it be too much sunlight? I did just repot it
My Alocasia Team
Yay! So glad they added this Alocasia group! Showing off my Zebrina to celebrate the occasion!
Omg! Planta! Thank you for creating this group đ€© So excited!! Posting only a few of my babies đ„° Alocasia is my favorite genus đ©·
Just sharing my odora. Iâve only had it a little while and I have many new leaves and have taken several corms. Easiest alocasia for sure! I am excited for it to get properly big!
