Hey Iâm new to taking care of this kind of Alocasia, any tips on how to not kill it? đ and plant care tips? Thank you!
My alocasia shelf in my greenhouse, plus my philodendron glorious. I went from having zero to 12 of these in a matter of months. Theyâre so amazing to watch grow! Not pictured are my cupreas, zebrina, and black stem.
Why is her leaf looking like this?
HELP! My silver dragon has inflorescences and Iâm not sure what to do. I tried looking up different videos on pollination but they all are on different Alocasia and the inflorescence look different. This is the only Alocasia I have. Should I try to save the pollen and freeze it until I have another Alocasia. Or can I pollinate the same plant? It also looks like there is a second one about to be exposed right under the one already bloomed.
I canât seem to have any luck with my Alocasia Dragonsđ© I got the Silver Dragon a few weeks ago and itâs been a constant struggle to keep him alive. Repotted after received but he completely drooped and I moved it to water then fluval. I just got the Dragon Scale a few days ago, repotted straight to fluval to keep in the mini greenhouse and already has yellowing leavesđ„č Could it be transplant shock? Dying soil roots until water roots grow? Do these Alocasias not like to be in fluval? Planning to eventually keep them in semi-hydro hence the repot. Iâm keeping them in a mini greenhouse with other baby plants and make sure they have air and run a humidifier too, but repotted everything as I donât have any plants in normal potting mix. I might be paranoid but I can see a slight yellowing leaf on the Alocasia Micholitziana Frydek in the greenhouse toođ I thought the Maranta Makoyana will give me headachesđ€Šââïž #newplantparent
My A. lauterbachiana has been droopy lately. At first I thought it was because it couldnât support the weight of the leaves, but Iâm not sure. What do you guys think?
Why is she bleeding đđđ Iâm not concerned about the leaf dying off lmao all the other leaves are chilling and it just made a new one so I figure itâs just part of the plantâs life cycle, BUT WHAT IS THAT??? Iâve never seen a plant bleed like that. Maybe Iâm crazy
Is this corm a goner? It got stuck in the mail and arrived cold. Itâs not mushy, but⊠đŹ It donât look good
I am considering a potting medium change for my two alocasias. My soil is currently mixed with orchid bark and perlite but Iâm thinking itâs still not chunky enough and holds a bit too much water. My ninja is looking a little depressed which is why I am thinking about this, though it may still be acclimating. Anyone have any recommendations? I am contemplating leca but feel like I see mixed things on it. Or would just adding more bark/perlite be the easier answer?
Just got one of my wishlist plants! Variegated Alocasia Frydek! Itâs in a humidity dome for now to help it acclimate and isolate it. Hope it stays happy! đ
Has anyone bought these clear acrylic window shelves from Amazon? Iâm interested to know if they are sturdy.
can someone tell me why my adult alocasia is growing two baby leafs that arenât even unfurling? Iâm aware I have a baby plant growing on the left, but Iâm not sure why the leaves on the adult plant arenât full size? thanks! :)
SHES FINALLY HAPPY AGAIN, I repotted her on Monday as she was getting hydrophobic and everything. (picture 2 is when I had repot) She was just looking sad so I repot her into a wider container I had (1-2 inches wider) and BOOM come today sheâs exploded!!
I wanted to show off this bad girl Evangeline.
My alocasia cuprea is gifting me with a bloom! I rescued this one from a grocery store, along with another that only lives on through a corm, and Iâm so happy to see it thriving! I know many people recommend cutting the blooms off but I have plans for this one! Iâll be saving the pollen to use if my black velvet ever blooms to hopefully create a hybrid!
Time for me to dig up my Cannias and elephant, ear bulbs for the winter. I was alway all summer doing hip replacements so I didnât get to keep up with them. But the bulbs got to recharge their batteries why I was away.
This came out of my black velvet, I thought it was making a leaf until today and Iâve never seen this beforeâŠanyone know what it is and why itâs there??
Any idea what could cause brown - what appear to be dry/dead spots specifically only along the veins?
Can someone identify what this is? I wanted to guess pink princess but I have a bigger one that just sprouted new leaves that donât show the same dark undersides.
Is it possible to mend her?đđ my cat had a wild night, Iâm not happy!!!
