It's an inflorescence. If you don't plan to utilize it you can remove it close to the base. So the plant stops putting so much energy into it

PhilIt’s a flower but you won’t be impressed. There may be more to follow. Mine put out five at one time. I cut them off. But it’s your first one so let it go so you can see what it looks like.
