I have always said to myself that I wasn’t interested in having a regal shield. Until I saw this beast in a garden centre for twenty pounds. Its leaves are nearly twice the size of my head (and I have a big head). Can honestly say it’s one of my favourites! 😍

It’s beautiful! 🌱 Lol I’ve done that many times - didn’t really care for a plant too much, until I saw a certain one that was just soo pretty. And sometimes pictures just don’t do them justice, so seeing it in person is just a different level.

Any advice on what I’m doing wrong. I recently repotted and moved to a different spot because of the direct sun light it was getting. In 3 months I want to repot one more time and see how it does in pon. And advance please help

I use a tropical mix 1 part perlite 1 part soil 1 part orchid bark The left doesn’t look buried enough. The right looks like the pot may be too big and the soil looks quite compact. I tend to water when the soil is like 75% dry (use a chopstick to check). To be fair all my alocasias are kept in my bedroom as it gets humid in there with lots of bright indirect light and I fertilise nearly every watering at this time of year

Awwww thank you so much. The picture you see I just repotted maybe a week ago should I repot again or waste until it gets settled. I was going to repot in pon I heard it would be less likely to get mites etc because I plan on putting them in the house once I repot in pon
