Not sure if this is more of a semi hydro or alocasia question, but i recently moved my alocasias into leca and I dunno if I can use my regular liquid fertilizers [dr earth& miracle grow] for feeding or if i need something more suited towards semi-hydro. I'm more worried about the organic fertilizer since some nutrients have to break down for the plant to use it and i'm not sure if it can break down as much in semi hydro media. I know alocasias are moderate to heavy feeders so I wanna be able to feed them soon!

    If you plan on keeping it semi-hydro I would suggest getting a fert specifically for that. It will be much easier to dilute correctly. And for all the reasons you mentioned above, it will have compounds made to be in water long term and break down correctly.

    I dont use miracle gro. Is it the liquid dr earth? If so i have used that on my semi-hydro. If you read the directions and it states an option for watering can.

      Yep! Thank you! I usually prepare water for feeding my plants in advanced so good to know It could work!
