Help please! I went back home from a holiday for 2 weeks and found my Alocacia leaf turning this colour. This happened before for one of its small leaves and died. I noticed it drooped as well. Can’t figure out What’s the problem…last time I watered was before leaving for my holiday and I just measured soil moisture and don’t think it needs watering at the moment. I love this plant so much and I need help keeping it alive 😢

I would keep an eye out for other warning signs, but to me it appears to be a naturally dead leaf. Whenever leaves the dies, the plant re absorbs a lot of the chlorophyll in the leaf. The chlorophyll is the green tint in the leaf, so this is just the pigment that remains in the old leaf. My guess it was one of the older leaves on the plant as the rest of the plant looks healthy.

Watch for cold drafts too from air conditioning or a window.
