HELP! My Alocasia Polly has spider mites! I tried circling a bit of the web but it doesn’t show up well on camera. I have never had spider mites so tips and care info will be GREATLY appreciated. I checked all the leaves and it looks like there’s only a web on this new leaf coming up so maybe I caught it early if that’s even possible. TIA!!! 😓

Every time I water my alocasias, I brush the leaves with a makeup brush (just a dry brush). This will disrupt the life cycle of spider mites by brushing off the eggs, larvae, etc. because alocasias get spider mites so easily. I also add silica to my plant water which makes plants stronger and more resilient to pests. If the plant already has an outbreak, I use a spray bottle with 1 part isopropyl alcohol, 5 parts water, and a drop of dish soap. Spray on/under leaves, then use a brush to spread it across the leaf and stem.

Thank you so much! I did exactly what you said and they are thankfully gone from what I can see now. I am going to do it for maybe one or two more days just to be sure. I will try the silica though! Thanks again!
