I’m really bummed! I bought this beautiful Birkin a few weeks ago. It was gorgeous when I brought it home. But it seems to be struggling. I potted it with a lipstick plant, which I thought had the same kind of needs. But my Birkin has lost several leaves, and looks like it will lose a couple more, even though it’s putting out new leaves. It’s about 12 feet away from my west facing window, but I’m using a grow light. It has good drainage. I’m keeping the soil damp, not wet. I’m misting it every couple of days as Planta suggests. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? 😢 The first pic is when I brought it home. The others are from today.

I’m not sure if this is the reason for your issue but I’ve personally had issues with root rot keeping philos moist. I have to let mine dry out all the way or they just drop leaves. Personally I’d take it out of the pot and let it dry out/check for any root rot before putting it back in soil. I’m also not the foremost expert on philos by any means 😅

I would also cut off the all white leaves so that the plant gives more energy in taking care of the other leaves. The white ones will just die off anyway. 😊

Since the white leaves have no chlorophyll they just die?

With birkins they can sometimes become varigated as they should but if you're struggling with the plant I would just remove them

It looks overwatered and edema on that white leaf. It shouldn't be constantly damp

I find they pout dramatically after a pot change…
