Hi all repotted this little beauty about a month ago. I did add holes on the bottom and I even have a try for the water to go to for drainage. I make sure to empty it so itā€™s not sitting in water. But Iā€™m now seeing these yellowish leaves. What am I doing wrong? It doesnā€™t feel over water on the top. I mean the soul is moist but not like itā€™s all wet. I havenā€™t watered it recently. I do mist it and I kind of follow the tips from the site. It sits in these hold pots. Please help. Sheā€™s my first plant and I donā€™t want to loose her. Iā€™m supposed to do liquid fertilizer today.

    I see new growth and the yellow leaf looks like an ā€œoldā€ growth. Itā€™s normal to loose some older leaves as it grows. I donā€™t think you have anything to worry about. Remove that yellow leaf to give more energy to the rest of the plant.

    Those are all good things to do! If the soil is still moist at all on the top its definitely not time to do liquid fertilizer. My biggest complaint about Planta is theyā€™re not very good at making it clear that you need to check the soil before watering when they tell you to water, because thereā€™s always a decent chance that the plant isnā€™t ready to be watered yet. Their algorithm can only guess at when to water, but Philodendrons like this plant need to dry out 50-75% in between waterings or theyā€™ll get overwatered. Iā€™d suggest getting a chopstick or wooden skewer and sticking it 50-75% into the soil to check if itā€™s still moist or not (do 75% into the winter/dormancy season unless you have a grow light). If it comes out clean, itā€™s ready to be watered. If it comes out damp or with any soil sticking to it, it needs a little more time to dry out so you can hit ā€œsnoozeā€ on the notification to water and wait until that chopstick comes out dry. Tanner the Planter has some helpful YouTube videos about when to water plants and using this method to check the soil. You could also use a moisture meter but I find them to be a little unreliable.
