Hey everyone! Just got this beautiful girl today! I have her on the lowest light setting for four hours a day and just watered her with the Arber liquid fertilizer and she has a diffuser next to her. I haven’t reported her because she might go in a shock just from moving places, but I wanted some advice on care for her! All advise is welcome! Substrate, lighting, pots, whatever💚💚💚 I’m kinda new to philodendrons🫣 as I’m a pothos girl but couldn’t resist😂
She’s beautiful! I would up the light exposure quite a bit unless she’s getting strong light from another source like a window. She’s gonna want more like 12-14 hours of light per day, and I would up the light level as well. The light level you could up more gradually (like a level every few days or so) if you want. Philodendron and pothos are really similar, though philodendron are *slightly* less hardy. A good chunky mix, lots of light, and she’ll also size up faster with a stake or support.

Slowly being the key word here. Although it's pretty hard, billie can go into shock and it is most likely to happen from temp changes, and if improving lighting increases heat also, it's even more important to go slow. Looks very healthy though, and I wish you happy growing.

Billie are pretty bomb proof. I've never had one go into shock (not that its impossible) but I have a few normal, crosses, and varigated. They like humidity and are good chunky soil
3 gillningar I agree ot will need more light, mine are all under 14-16hrs. But definitely work up to it, though they aren't super prone to scorching either

1 gilla They can handle lower light, but if you want big leaves, definitely slowly i crease the light time

I think they mean direct light of 4 hours - not total. They love bright indirect light. When mine is under a grown light it get about 14 hrs of light per day. Right now I have it about a foot away from a west window and it’s growing like a weed
