I just got this pink princess and I have taken some cuttings from it but I was wondering if I should remove this damaged leaf or leave it?

I always vote remove, they make me sad to look at and the plant can focus its energy on new growth instead of feeding that leaf

That’s what I was thinking too! I took some beautiful cuttings off the top but the rest was slightly neglected lol

I know, I got some pretty beat up plants from big box stores that I wanted to rescue and it kills me that have to severely prune them… but it will be worth it in the end! 🌈

Hi Michaela, No pink on the leaves. I wish there were. That is so neat I think Tyler is correct.
1 gillaI meant to say thank you both! Now I know what that little baby is. Rojo Congo. I’m so excited to be starting my plant journey.

My rule of thumb is always remove a bad looking or old leaf. The leaf itself will never return to health again when torn or split somewhere. Not only that but if it’s looking dried & brown, it’s actually still taking nutrients away from the rest of the plant by remaining there. The very last part of a plant to die is always the root system. I’ve seen plants w/practically no leaves or very little leaves come fully back to life if given what the plant needs (water, right location & nutrients). Don’t give up & hopefully it will reward you with lots of new leaves! 🌱
