Curious if anybody has had this happen to them or know what it is. My white wizard seems to have these transparent parts on its green leaves where the chlorophyll is just no existent in those areas (it appears as yellow spots but they are semi transparent). No signs of pest and the new leaves come out with these spots already on them. Is it edema? Kind of at a loss, but it doesn’t seem to affect the plants health, just curious what is causing it.

    That’s happened to my white princess. I thought it was light burn from the grow lights, but some people have said that it’s related to root health. So not sure, but it seems common in variegated philodendrons

    My white knight has these too. I saw someone once say it was from them getting stuck when emerging. I’m not sure if it’s true, but it could be!

    Regarding variegation on plants, particularly those with white in them, from what I understand, is a product called Fish Shit from Fish Head Farms (sorry, but that is the real name!) It’s an organic soil conditioner that is 0MRI listed and registered with CFA as an organic input material. You can use it with any medium and any nutrient line. I was told it brings out variegation. It should be used with all faxes of a plant's lifecycle from seedlings through flush. I purchased a 4.1 fluid ounce bottle from Curiosities in Tigard, but I’m sure you can order it online. I paid $20 for it. Has anybody used this? If I hear nothing, I will try to keep you posted as to my results. I almost forgot it’s supposed to be very beneficial for establishing roots and a bunch of other things that just went right over my head.😵‍💫 If you ever need any plant advice or really specific information on plants, etc. etc., etc., there is a plant lady there by the name of Laura. She’s owned her own plant shop for a number of years and she has now moved in at Curiosities. I am amazed at her knowledge. Actually, she’s probably just like many of you. Just thought I’d mention that. 🪴💚🪴
