I need Hoya Help!
I got this Hoya compacta about 6 months ago and it got wrinkly 3 months later (second pic). In hindsight I think it was probably underwatered? It stayed wrinkly, then my toddler knocked it over twice about a month ago. Now it’s still wrinkly but the leaves have started to yellow and drop (not just base leaves).
Reddit said to water it and see if it plumps up in the next day or two, it didn’t. Then Reddit said either the roots had dried up and died or had rotted. So I checked the roots.
To my inexperienced eye, they look fine on both plants? The root balls seem proportional in size to the plants, I don’t feel any that are mushy. I mean, they are thin and pretty limp. I see very thin hairlike roots that I am assuming are what Reddit was referring to that might have dried and died. Maybe I just don’t know what healthy Hoya roots are supposed to look like?
So now I’m at a loss. TIA 🙏

Can someone please help me? My first Hoya (compacta.) I have it in an east facing window and it’s starting to develop these black spots :(
It did ship from Miami to Arkansas- so shipping stress is possible but when it arrived, the spots were not there.

i had a hoya that lost most of its leaves due to root rot from overwatering at the store i got it from, but i managed to save one of the plants. i was wondering if it would ever grow new leaves or anything because there's no vines left at all but when i repotted the stem had little node looking things on it that looked like they were growing??
