I just heard about Hoya oblak. Did a little searchy-search. It is GORGEOUS!! But at over $2350.00 for a little start? Outta my league. But they sure are beautiful 🤩

Recently picked this little Hoya up at The Rhoads Garden for $6, but I’m very new to Hoyas. Could anyone tell me what I can use to clean the leaves? I’ve currently got Bonide’s Insecticidal Soap, Neem Oil, and Castile Soap to work with, but I don’t wanna use anything on it until I can confirm that it’s save to use on these type of leaves. I’d also really appreciate if anyone could confirm if this is a Hoya Carnosa, or some other cultivar of Hoya. TIA for any help in figuring either of these out!

My hoya put out flower buds about 5-6 weeks ago. The blooming seems to be paused. None have fully bloomed. Fortunately, they have not blasted. Any advice for a confused Hoya Shepardii owner on how to get it to finish this process? 🫤 I have several hoyas blooming next to it. I bought a full size plant last year. It had old peduncles on it when it was delivered. It didn’t bloom last year. It has both old and new peduncles with buds this year. It lives outside in full direct morning sun and bright shade the rest of the day. Both humidity and temps are high. The white on the leaves are hard water deposits.

Burt used to be 3 cuttings in a box and today he got his big boy pot. He's my first successful houseplant propagation (I have ditched the water method) and I must admit to being proud of my little buddy.

Hi there! 👋😊 I’m pretty well-acquainted with houseplants, but very new to Hoyas, and was wondering if it’s possible to simply let a Hoya grow out to become a trailing plant. I have yet to really see any Hoyas with longer stems without a trellis, so I was wondering if the trellis is necessary or not. I’ve been really considering trying Hoyas out, but I’d love to know if I can turn it into a trailing plant that I could place into a macrame hanging basket. TIA for any responses! (I’d also love to hear what types others would recommend trying first, or their personal favorite Hoyas.)

hi everyone! this is my h. mathilde, i’ve had her since last spring when she was just a few leaves. she grew really steadliy & relatively quickly but has slowed down the past few months. i keep her under a grow light, she’s in a chunky mix that i water when mostly dry, fertilize regularly with foliage-pro 9-3-6, ambient humidity 55%, i’ve chopped & propped her once to fill her out & as far as i can tell she’s not rootbound yet. i’d like to continue to grow her trailing but has she stopped growing as quickly because she’s not trellised? should i chop her back again or size her pot up? or maybe do more foliage feeding?

It’s watering day for my hoya kerrii <3 There are sooo many peduncles — I can’t wait to see her bloom and for the new vine shoots to fill in with leaves! This is one of the most show stopping plants in my collection imo 🤩
