h. carnosa ‘krimson princess’ showing me a lot of love… i feel blessed to have watched this beautiful, mutated leaf grow and form. it was a tiny pink ‘v’ a few weeks ago.
This is a tree fern fiber fan girl post! I purchased this H. Coriacea silver cutting on May 24th. The second shot is from today. I’ve never seen Hoya’s get so much growth, so fast as with tree fern fiber. I even use it in my self watering pots layered on top of volcanic rock or pummice. I highly recommend!💚
Looking for help! I put My Hoya Kerii Picta Spot (what it was called when I bought it, but it’s inner variegated) out on our deck today, got busy and didn’t notice it was getting to much heat and sun this afternoon. It looks pretty sad - a couple leaves are “wilt-y”. Anything I can do to help it. I brought it inside right and and misted it a little, hoping it would perk up. Thanks!
Tragedy! My Hoya Elliptica blasted its flower buds last night! Why????😫 It looked fine yesterday with one bud starting to open. The second peduncle looks like it will drop flower buds too! Some are turning yellow!😭 I fertilized it 3 days ago. I typically fertilize it every 2 weeks with 50% diluted fertilizer and SuperThrive. There are no watering issues. The soil is almost dry with some light moisture at the very bottom of the pot. No signs of root rot.
Uhhhh what’s happening to my krimson queen?
Just started collecting Hoyas through this first plant that caught my eye! Got her a little baby trellis and she’s looking soooo cute! Anyone have any idea if most Hoyas need a trellis or if it’s dependent by certain species/ cultivars? Or do they all survive pretty well without trellises and can just trail? Thank you!
I can not keep up with cleaning up around the Hoya pots right now. I don’t mind though ♥️🌸
My Hoya Carnosa Krimson Queen has bloomed! She put out the peduncle 8 months ago. She worked hard to come this far! 🥹😍
PSA: Classic root rot in a Hoya Note the yellowing leaves and the thread-like appearance of several roots.
The day has finally arrived! My variegated Hoya multiflora’s single flower bud bloomed. All the other buds blasted, but this one powered through. It took what felt like forever. Oh and very excited for the new stem. 😍💚
Love how black the new leaves are and this particular grey/silver big splashed leaf -my current favorite leaf from my collection. Not sure if it’s a particular variety of pubicalyx because it was unlabeled and hasn’t flowered, but she’s big, dense, beautiful, and I love it.
There was discussion about how Hoyas grow, hanging or trellised. I think the photo is a perfect example of what usually happens when a Hoya is trained down or in a circle or when it hangs down. It grows a vine at the top of the curve. This is H. hellwigiana. She was growing just fine and producing leaves without a trellis, but when she started blooming, I gave her a trellis for support. The vine is circling the front of the trellis.
Love the leaves on this Hoya.
New to Hoyas! Any care tips?
Hoya Fitchii yellow bloomed first time for me.
Hi everyone! New to the group but wanted to show you my Hoya corner in the patio. I’m running out of room! 🥹
These are my 3rd and 4th bloom from my Bella this year, so happy.
Hi everyone! I got three new Hoya today and wanted to know if anyone has care tips or recommendations based on your growing conditions for these Hoya 😅 Left: H. Dennisii Frida Right: H. Heuschkeliana inner variegata Bottom: H. Leucantha I’m most curious about the light requirements as that seems to be most crucial and is most variable for different Hoya species in my collection. Thanks in advance for any tips!
One tiny flower bud came out on my Hoya Multiflora/Shooting Star! I am so grateful!🥹
