Got a new Hoya today, but without a label. I’m not familiar enough with krohniana and lacunosa to spot the difference, but I’m thinking it is one of those two. My gut is telling me krohniana, but I might just want it to be that because I love the darker leaf margins and want it to be a black leaves. Though it’s probably just a regular ol’ something 😁 which is just fine. One pic under grow light, second natural light. 💚

Have had a few Hoyas in my life and I don’t normally post pridefully, but I find this one simply gorgeous.

Picked up this STUNNING Hoya at Home Depot the other night 😍 can someone help identify her? I’m pretty sure it’s a Hoya pubicalyx? But I could be wrong, I’m fairly new to Hoyas, 3rd one in my collection

Anybody have advice for how to get Hoyas to grow? I’ve had one for two years and the other for a year and neither have put out too much new growth since getting them. They are both in a chunky bark potting mix and get fertilized with orchid fertilizer every month (heard it helps them bloom? Idk if that’s true though). They are also in a cabinet with 12 hr grow lights, 60-80% humidity and 70-80 degrees. Are they just slow growers? Don’t have that much experience with Hoyas. The latest growth on the crimson queen is all white so not sure whether to cut it off?

Curious about the potting substrates that folks have had the best (or worst) luck for keeping your Hoyas thriving? I have lots of starter size Hoyas that I’ve had a year or less. Pon and LECA seem spiff and I’ve been using them when potting up cuttings, but I see a lot of comments online from folks who eventually lose their Hoyas to root rot in pon or leca after months to years.

I finally got a variegated compacta 🥹 My plant shop had them at 50% off and I couldn’t not get it. I know it’s going to take forever to grow but hoya growth is so rewarding!

As soon as I cross one wishlist Hoya off, I end up adding a couple more.. The term “Hoya Hole” is no joke. Anyway, welcome home to this little girl, Hoya Pandurata Silver.. I’ve heard that silver Hoya’s are more thirsty. Do any of you share that opinion?

Hi y’all, I moved to a new apartment and it had the cutest sunroom with so many windows & skylights. so I got 3 hanging planters. Today I put a different Hoya in each planter. Looking for any tips or advice to keep them alive?! Thank you ☺️🪴 Hoya Kerrii Hoya Wayetti (tricolor) Hoya Black Margin PS, BookNook attached 🤭

Flowered for the first time for me. Hoya Lacunosa silver. So tiny and perfect little blooms. Smell faintly of honeysuckle mixed with a bit of urine.

Gave my Hoya a shower and let it all hang out to dry, I love how long it is! Normally I drape it above the closet door.

I attached this bamboo trellis to the planter with xmas ornament hooks! Just working with what I had. 😂 I think it will end up looking very unique once it fills out. The planter does have drainage, and is lined with plastic I poked holes into.

I’m new to this group and don’t even have a Hoya yet but I already love the plant. Where is the best place to buy one and what is the best and showiest for a beginner?

Just grieving a little. I tried following planta’s watering schedule, but realized it was too strict on my hoya. I let the poor thing dry out, and I tried so hard to get it to come back. I accidentally dropped it this morning and it suddenly hit me how horrible it looked. I’ll miss you so much candlestick.

Hey everyone! I bought this Hoya, not sure which, at a big box store. It’s planted in a peat based soil. Should I repot in something more airy? I feel as though the peat holds on to too much moisture. Thanks!

I recently got this Hoya from a friend, any ideas on what kind this could be?
