Got this Hoya Globulosa as a fresh cutting, rooted it and then potted it up. So pleased with these roots it is developing in the substrate.

Look what I got for my birthdayšŸŽˆšŸŽˆ IKEA Milsbo tall.. Now I get to modify it into a greenhouse and fill it with more Hoya! If any of you have this cabinet, I’d love to hear any tips, tricks, recommendations! I plan on getting a couple Spider Farmer SF300 LED’s. This will be a slow going project but I look forward to every step, especially filling it.

My first peduncle! A welcome surprise after being out for the count all week with covid. I avoided getting covid all these years, but it finally caught up with me. I’m hoping so see a flower soon now that I’m on the mend ā˜ŗļø It’s an H. retusa incase you’re curious

New leaf on my Hoya Megalaster. This plant put out such long vines that I have wrapped around and around the trellis before it decided it was safe to put out a new leaf. Beautiful leaf.

Hoya Louise has bloomed so many times this year. This peduncle first flowered May 2023. Currently 3 peduncles in bloom at the same time.

Interesting roots. These are from a fishtail Hoya that I got as a fresh cutting. Roots are developing nicely.

Does anyone have experience shopping online with The Nursery Project USA? They have a storefront in Orlando. They are Athinaplantshop on ETSY. I’m attracted to their larger size hoyas and their holiday sale. 🪓

Hoya Iris Marie turned out to be an easy care hoya for me. They are not dramatic. They don’t drop leaves if I water a little late. One lost two growth points on arrival due to shipping stress. They all doubled in height since the end of summer when I bought them. They all put out new growth points and the cutest little leaves.

Hoya Fuscomarginata bloomed for the first time for me and it won’t bother me a bit if it never blooms again. Not a pleasant smell for a flower.

I figured this was the perfect place to ask - what are things you wish you knew when you got into Hoyas? Do you have any tips for light / fertilizer / propagation / substrate / blooms? I realize tips may vary depending on the specific plant and this is a large topic. I’m just looking for a few tips. I am still fairly new to Hoya and I’m finding most super easy but a few are more difficult (that I bought as unrooted cuttings). Thanks for any tips and expert knowledge!

My compacta finally bloomed! She had been working on this since the summer. The smell is a little less chocolate and more floral compared to my krimson queen. Everyone says compacta blooms smells like chocolate covered strawberries but I honestly don’t get that šŸ¤”

Today was watering day. Oye my back. While heaving the Hoya retusa back into its place, I found flowers. I have no idea for how long it’s been in bloom. All I know is there are five lovely little star shaped white flowers, with maroon centers and smelling faintly of honey. It’s the first time I’ve gotten a Hoya to bloom. I’ll be inspecting the rest very closely now. Super jazzed!

My Hoya Memoria (Gracilis) has a leaf shaped like a scoop! It’s the only one. I got it this summer and it has grown well with no issues. I hope to see it sun stressed some day when I can dedicate a grow light to it. The sun stress colors are coppery with a deep red tone on the newest leaves.

Hello friends! I’ve been interested in getting a few hoyas but am not sure what to expect from them! I mostly have plants that don’t bloom because I don’t like the smell of most flowers and get migraines easily. I’m just wondering how much the blooms smell and if the scents are overpowering? Would also like to know the best beginner hoyas if I do get one, and any advice you might have!

I had my Hoya for over 2 years, coming onto 3, it really hasn't grown much for however long I had it. It also doesn't look like it has any disease. Anyone knows why?

I am so very excited! I have been doing some progress reports today in a beautiful relax manner. Looking at all the Hoyas closely and marveling at the differences. Best yet I have found peduncles on quite a few! Lol perhaps it seems like quite a few since I expected to find none. Here is the latest one…just the mere breath of 2. šŸ˜€
