Propagating in soil
Propagating directly in soil is an excellent choice if you want to skip the transfer step later. Whether you are sowing seeds or rooting cuttings, this substrate encourages resilient roots that are perfectly adapted to their environment from day one.

How it works
The seed or cutting is placed directly into moistended, but not wet soil.
Roots grow beneath the surface, firmly anchoring the plant as it grows.
What you’ll need
A Container. Use a pot with drainage holes filled with soil.
A spray bottle or a narrow-spout watering can to keep the medium hydrated without washing away seeds or disturbing stems.
(Optional) a humidity dome to cover
Tips for success
Keep the medium consistently moist but never soggy. Excess water can lead to rot in cuttings or damping off in seedlings.
Optionally place it in a humidity dome. Make sure it has some ventilation, to prevent stagnant air.
Avoid the urge to tug on a cutting or poke around for a seed. Movement can damage fragile new root hairs. Give it time to root!
