Harvesting Peaches
Peaches are best harvested when fully ripe on the tree. Picking at the right time ensures sweet flavor, juicy texture, and proper aroma.

Care instructions
Wait for full color.
Peaches should develop their full background color (often yellow or cream beneath any red blush). The green tint near the stem should fade as the fruit ripens.Check for slight softness.
Ripe peaches yield gently to pressure, especially near the stem. They should feel soft but not mushy.Smell for ripeness.
A ripe peach has a strong, sweet fragrance. Lack of aroma usually means it needs more time.Taste test if unsure.
If color and softness are borderline, taste one. Peaches do not significantly sweeten after picking.Harvest during dry conditions.
Pick peaches on a dry day if possible to improve storage life.Twist gently to remove.
Lift and twist slightly. Ripe peaches detach easily from the branch.Handle very carefully.
Peaches bruise extremely easily. Place them gently in a shallow container and avoid stacking.Store properly after harvesting.
Allow slightly underripe peaches to finish softening at room temperature. Once ripe, store in the refrigerator and use within a few days.
