HELP: Teach me to prune this 3+ yr old fig tree Last year it barely bore 6 figs, and they never fully ripened. I’m in zone 8b, and this tree gets PLENTY of sun. The leaves look healthy and the tree is constantly budding. In the past year I don’t think I saw it shed any leaves (weird because I thought figs were deciduous) Maine because it doesn’t get cold enough in north TX. How should I prune this to maximize my yield (or at least improve it)?

    I recommend a professional tree trimmer who has experience with fruiting trees at least for a consultation. The main trunk looks like it was cut awhile ago leaving lots of suckers at the base and water sprouts on the branches. They fight for nutrients and water. A pro tree trimmer can recommend which ones to remove to maximize yield. I’m on the Tx gulf coast. My in-laws had a 40 year old fig tree. It didn’t drop leaves. I’m in zone 9a. 🍀🪴
