When do I know if my cherry tomatoes are ready to be picked? They’ve been red on the vine for at least two weeks now, but when I tug on them they are still firmly attached. I’ve read that they’re ready when they come off easily. Is that true or should I just pick them now?
They sell cherry tomatoes on their stem in the grocery stores. So, they don’t pull off easy. Just test taste one to determine if it’s ready.

I pull them off as soon as they are red so they don't split open on the vine. They last longer on the counter this way too

좋아요 1개You want to pick tomato’s when they are on the brink of turning red if you get a lot turning at the same time. If they are red pick them. These tomato’s are taking energy that the unripe tomato’s need. Usually red tomato’s keep a few days and the others turn within a day or so. Put them stem side down when possible. Agree they don’t always pull off easy but red is done! Fresh tomato’s are the best. I have raised 4 to 5 every summer for 15 years. I live in Utah which has short growing season so I plant Early Girls with shorter production time. Have fun!
